He's obviously guilty and I applaud the jury for taking as little time as possible to render their verdict.

Brooks, " is it necessary that I have these shock devices on?" |

He wants his shackles off. Fat chance. They should be 1000 amp electrodes.

Quoted: I see him either try and jump table or throw shit at the Judge. I'm hoping we see the tazer-shackles get activated before he is hauled out. View Quote If they are using a "Band-it" restraint, it is really not as effective as a Taser. It would be worn on one of his calf's and it will not effect multiple muscle groups. the two contacts are only a few inches apart and it acts more as a pain compliance device. What does suck is once it is activated, it will discharge for 8 seconds and cannot be stopped with the remote trigger. It will complete its entire cycle and the only wat to stop it is to access the unit and turn it off with a key. That wont happen in 8 seconds. The Taser is usually 5 seconds but a good deployment will span multiple muscle groups and brings the neuro muscular incapacitation you see when they drop to the ground and lock up. The taser cycle can be stopped early by engaging the safety. If they are using the Band-it, couple of things to look, really more appropriately listen for: There is the capability to issue a beep from the device as a warning that the subject needs to calm down or de escalate their behavior. When we have used them where I work, the inmate is told we will not use this feature and instead need to be cognizant of the person in control of the remote (we call them the "button man"). This officer will give them subtle signals as a warning if possible before deploying the device. If the device is activated it will make a clacking sound similar to what you hear with the taser. However with the contacts pressed against the skin, there should not be a lot of audible clacking but you will hear that audible beep as the device is activated for a stun. |

He looking at multiple 100s of years in prison The first count won him a mandatory life (his natural life) without parole. The following 59 counts would award the same, but yeah. it's something like 2000 years if guilty on all counts and max sentencing. |

How many hours did this take to write those papers out? Or did they just make 60 photocopies for reckless endangerment and write in the counts?
|
|
We had to test ours before each use. We would have the defendant and their counsel present and activate the Band-it in front of them. Like a taser you can see the current jump between the contacts. We never had a defendant act in a way that required us to use it, it seemed to intimidate the hell out of them. When I was trained on the original device, it was a "stun belt" and worn on a belt around the waist, and above one of the subjects kidneys. There was a good chance that activation would result in loss of bladder control according to the manufacturer. Inmates absolutely were terrified of pissing themselves. |

The defendant seems somehow to be at a loss of words for once in this Circus...
He's batting 100 at 50 of 50 so far! Bigger_Hammer |

The first couple of days/weeks/months after his death, it's going to be somewhat awkward for his cellmate. But, after his body is fully reduced to bone, it might not be so bad for the next thousand or two thousand years of subsequent cellmates.

I guess he will go to the state pen. What are those like in Wisconsin?

Victim's family member yells from the gallery 'burn in hell you piece of shit'

Quoted: He still thinks he's won by how he's composing himself. View Quote We still have sentencing and victim impacts to go, but at the end of today the reality of the sentences he will get was hitting him. Also as they panned out at the end of the feed I was watching he had 2 deputies we had already seen sitting behind him and there were two more standing near his table when the camera panned back towards the clock. There is no prejudicing the jury now that they had reached a verdict, the increased presence of security in the courtroom cannot sway what has already decided. So Brooks probably got to see those uniforms in the courtroom waiting for his smart ass to do something. They can have a lot more visible security present during sentencing too (especially with emotionally charged victim impact statements to come). I'm gonna go with he is a little bitch. |

He’ll have the rest of his life to file frivolous appeals and bar grievances against the prosecutors and judge.

Maybe the Sheriff and Warden don't feel like writing a check to Brooks family if he dies in their custody. Also, I really don't want Brooks to have control over anything. Let him live life pissed off and getting the shit beat out of him whenever possible. I hope the idea that the world is right there outside the walls of where he is staying and he will never freely walk in it again fucking pisses him off. |
