If you have the plug, you can order the batteries from eBay for $42 a pair, then wire up. Interstate brand on Amazon are about $70. That’s still way cheaper than the website.

Quoted: Well . . . Their tech support is marginally worse than Trane . . . Their interface is obnoxious and proprietary, but once learned is usable. AAON are some of my least favorite, but that's more because they make my life a pain than due to quality. And because I'm bored: My biggest issues come from engineers who spec things that the units can't do, or design systems for "efficiency" by undersizing the unit, or get creative. Keep it simple, and if you're going to replace two existing units with one new one, for the love of all that is holy spec a big enough unit. I'm not a service guy, but I will say that the number of problems caused by not changing (or sometimes not having) filters is amazing. Probably the #1 cause of issues we're called in to diagnose. When there's a 3inwc drop across your cooling cool, maybe you should have had filters in it while they were cutting concrete in the parking lot next to your OA intake. Maybe? We don't do a lot of commercial, definitely nothing as big as that unit you were working on, and we don't do a whole lot that engineers have designed. But we have done a couple over the last 5 years that have been doozies. The best was when we called up and told the engineer we couldn't fit 14" duct through his 14" high chaseway he designed. He didn't take into account the 3" of insulation we have to put around the outside of it. |
