Will Season 2 have 100% more flashbacks and "Lost" type story telling? I need more flashbacks and story jumping. And memory scenes. I want the robots to have memories of their flashbacks that jump back? Do this for 10 episodes, please. View Quote |

Rewatching the first season is a totally different experience than the first time. Love this series.

As in another thread, why can't the "Haters" just STFU and let those who want to enjoy something, enjoy it? Why the F&ck do the haters feel obligated to to piss on everyone who likes things? If you like S&W and I like Beretta or Glock, okay. Who give a shit? Rant over. It's almost a tiresome as reading the f&&king "Dupe police" posts. View Quote Ill be watching tonight. |

I want the robots to have memories of their flashbacks that jump back? Do this for 10 episodes, please. The show makes fun of the WW's guests that just want to show up to WW and shoot and fuck everything - so what is HBO known for? Definately not family friendly programming. Anthony Hopkins makes fun of HBO directly in S01E09, IIRC. He even looks at the camera and says it. The show is repetitive to the point of being another irony about it. We know exactly what every character is going to do once you get passed episode 3 and "Ford" even shows you directly on S01E10. Teddy is going to get shot/stabbed, Dolores is going to get slapped around, then killed. "The Black Man" goes about finding the maze the same repetitive way. Everything about the show is about repetition, just like a robot. Remember when the board member says "show, not tell." |

HBO lucked out with WW, it's a really solid show to follow up GOT. I'm not upset that GOT is almost over now anymore. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes |

Season 1-4 was peak GOT. Ever since the show feels like it exists to please the fans, and not to further the story. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

I don't even know where to start. This season looks pretty epic.
Now we know there are at least 6 parks. Tons of gun porn too |
|
Was that South Korean Military? Are they renting or leasing the island and therefore the land for certain parks from the gov't of foreign nations?
I think they are setting up at least 2 different time lines again this season, how did Bernard wake up on a beach and also find himself with Hale inside the stable after the hosts went nuts at the part? I think those are 2 different parks. |

I'm not sure yet. And I'm not bolstered in my optimism by the Season 2 premier.
It just doesn't feel like they've got the same magnitude of plan and aim for the story this time. There are a lot of distractions borrowed from the Season 1 formula, but it just didn't gel for me. Maybe I'm wrong; I'll watch the opener again tomorrow and maybe have another opinion but right now -- I'm not disappointed but I'm also not stoked for the rest of the story. |

Solid premiere, but I gotta bitch about how we got full frontal dong, but when Valkyrie starts getting naked the picture goes blurry. https://media.giphy.com/media/rM6scK327auEU/giphy.gif View Quote |

And wtf, they send all these tier 1 operator lookin dudes and all the hosts are already dead? Gonna be pissed if the best gunfighting we see is between hosts and Delos' retard security guys |

I'm looking forward to seeing the flashbacks of McPoyle and Logan hopefully post-McPoyle's first visit to WW.

So, looks like we're going to have at least three timelines this season: Post S1 massacre with Bernard and Charlotte/Teddy and Delores killing everyone, Bernard 2wks after massacre, MiB back when Delos buys the park.
In addition, it seems that Delores has been brought outside the park at times in the past if the scenes of her in the modern world with, I assume, Arnold are of any indication. A theory that's bouncing around Reddit also has Delos sampling the DNA of guests and using the host experiences to create copies of guests so they can influence the outside world. I haven't seen the original movies but from what others said that was how they went. Hopefully there will be some differences. Overall I thought the episode was pretty good, though damn confusing at times. |
|
Anyone else thinking that the overall story is a metaphor for reincarnation? I.e., Delores is the everyman. She goes through multiple lives until she evolves to the point where she has her own consciousness, and at that point becomes something larger than herself. That's what the boy tells the MIB at the end. We're all just bits of code. And that's what the narrator says at the end of the episode, our world is just a spec of dust in a much larger world. Does that refer just to westworld being an island on earth, or also to earth being an island in a much larger cosmos? Plus, the game seems to be not just for the hosts, the MIB is invited to it as well.

was that a specific host that was focused on in the last scene? hard to tell in the water.

I thought it was a good first episode. I agree that it looks like there will be AT LEAST 3 timelines running this season. I really hope we get a bit more time in other worlds too.

I was disappointed in the premiere, just didn't click for me. Maybe too many floppy wieners and no boobs?

Looking forward to watching it later, going to finish Homeland next week, then watch the first two episodes.

They are going the Lost or Inception route. So many realities, dreams or wtf. Plots inside of plots inside of plots and in the end nobody will give a shit because it's so convoluted and will make no sense. I'll watch one more episode and then decide. Its understandable that YOU might feel that way. Not everyone has the intelligence and/or attention span to understand a plot more sophisticated than 'Ow my balls!' You should probably save your time and throw in the towel now because I really don't see them dumbing things down. View Quote |
