I’ve tried everything. MAP gas torch, CLR, WD40. Nope. This hose isn’t coming off the spigot. Same for the brass valve on the other end.
Apparently the aluminum hose ends essentially chemically weld themselves to whatever they are attached to. Never use a hose with aluminum. |

That sucks. My mom had the same issue. I bought a hose with brass fittings. Hopefully it does better.
Have the same exact issue on my front yard hose. Previous home owner had aluminum hoses. I'm eventually going to have to cut the entire thing off and replace the valve.

Use a dremel with cut off wheel to make a couple shallow cuts into the aluminum nut and pull it apart. Just don’t go deep enough that you cut you hose Bibb threads
Sodium hydroxide will dissolve it without eating the brass spigot. Don't get any on your skin btw.
Yep, fucking sucks
You can cut emm off, cut perpendicular to the threads and don’t cut the outlet opening where the rubber washer seals |
Same thing happened to me with aluminum valve stem caps.
The fuckers were not going to come off without ripping up the valve steams Originally Posted By BuickDan: Use a dremel with cut off wheel to make a couple shallow cuts into the aluminum nut and pull it apart. You can buy just about anything. You're asking the wrong question.

For this reason and Florida well water, I now use a sacrificial plastic female to male adapter between the bib and hose.

I’m gonna call a plumber. This spigot pisses me off. What is the best non needle valve spigot on the market? Fuck needle valves.
While we’re at it what is best 100 foot hose? |

I have a few of those Zero hoses from Lowe’s.
Lightweight, store easy, convenient. Any bend them needs to be straightened out before water will flow. I don’t leave them connected because of the shitty fittings. If these hoses had brass fittings, I really wouldn’t complain about them. ETA: Holy shit! The new ones have brass inserts that won’t corrode and self-weld. |

Have you tried heating it with a gas torch and melting some wax down into the threads? |

Industrial supply houses still sell heavy duty brass end hoses. Not at HD prices though. I like the red ones. |

I like the 3/4 black spa flex with PVC fittings painted black. The hose lasts forever and the fittings are $1 to replace.

Because I couldn’t disconnect it. Thankfully I can winterize all my spigots so nothing but air is in them. |

I actually gave up on the hose in the front yard today for that same reason. It’s not budging.

Can’t tell a difference and they are years old and no problems |

Fuck china in the ass with a Barbed Wire wrapped Pine Cone dipped in AIDS. |

If you really like the hose, maybe some anti-seize would help on the next one, or if you ever get that one off. I can usually tolerate sub-standard fittings, but find most hoses to leave something to be desired.
I have a black hose that has steel fittings and now the nice brass quick disconnects are permanently attached.
Hose is still good, but really heavy. |
What about putting some gallium on it then hitting with hammer?
Craftsman made one of the best hoses available for the longest time. Thick rubber, brass fittings, lifetime warranty, and never kinked. I have their 125' hose on the front of my house (100' + 25' attached).
I don't know the state of their hoses due to the Sears/Craftsman thing these days though... |
