Do you like them?  Would you trust one enough to be a carry gun?

Yes.

I've built three and they work fine. I do and have carried one as my CCW. There's a whole huge thread on these.

Made a really nice dedicated 22 cal from an 80%. EDC? No, I’ll stick to a factory gun when my life depends on it.

I built one last week and so far I like it a lot, it over all feels better in my hand than my factory g19.

If you don't use a factory gun as your carry gun, you will regret it. Factory gun, factory ammo, don't give the courts anymore reason to nail you to the wall.

So you're saying you have no faith in your craftsmanship but have faith that you will somehow perform better with a gun you literally know nothing about who made it?

Are the newest kits thoroughly reliable and debugged?

Are Glock slides / internals the preferred completion parts?

Awesome and work flawlessly. The compact has been my carry the past few months after 1500 rounds through it.

I used to think that same thing. Then there was the George Zimmerman trial. They tried to argue that his choice to carry "Critical Duty" ammo indicated he was some sort of wannabe cop.

IMO if they were trying to avoid potential Glock litigation, they could have gone with a modular/bolt-on trigger guard design. This would give users the options to use standard Glock holsters, or go with whatever shape they want.

Please cite a good shoot that went the wrong way in court over gun mods or ammo choice.

It's polymer.  Grab a file and reshape it.

Decided to build a P80 G17 a few months ago, knew my 14 year old son would be interested in the project as another suppressor host. Bought an inexpensive Swenson slide, a barrel off EE and finished it out with Glock parts. Through 500 rounds or so it’s not missed a beat and is a very comfortable gun for me to shoot. I carry it at times as well.

I built one last week.

I am amazed how easy it was and how well they shoot.

I did it all with files and it only took a couple hours.

I like it better than my factory G19.

Crazy, right?

I’ve even heard of people collecting multiple Garands.  At least the P80s are in a variety of calibers.

Because they know that carrying cop ammo is a valid defensive argument ( I use the same ammo officers use because it’s effective at stopping threats) and they wanted to break that in a case under heavy media scrutiny.

I have one that I could never get to work right. Maybe it's tolerance stacking or whatever. But it doesn't fit any slide I own (none of my slides are factory gen 3 glock)
