I love this thread
If I ever get an old muscle car, it will be a 1968 Plymouth Roadrunner, 2-door, with the 383 and a manual gear box. 100%. |

Much like now, the factory leaves horsepower caged up for the owner to release so that the car meets requirements set by the government or manufacturer. Pretty hard to wrap your head around. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes |

I have a weekend toy-1971 Buick GS 455(clone)-I take it to a few car shows and drive it a few times a month-I love it, but I would not want it for a daily driver-the older guys appreciate it-most younger guys don't know WTH it is-I have had a lot of work done to this car and am not through yet-but getting close-my advice to anyone thinking about getting a muscle car is, get one that is already or almost done. It does everything better than the old cars except for looks and even that is close enough. |

Quoted: That is not a muscle car. View Quote 1972 was the first year the 442 was offered with a 350. The very same 350 my car left the factory with. Anything GM A-body in 72 was slated to be what was eventually released in 1973. The colonnade body style. So basically every 72 is a carry over with subtle changes. Most would say that anything built in 72 isn't a muscle car since the feds and insurance companies forced manufacturers to neuter the muscle cars. The S is a mid grade car that got all of the flash without the big inch engine. Same for the Pontiac T-37 and the Chevelle Heavy Chevy. |
