I miss my 1996 VW Passat VR6 wagon with a 5 speed.
2x4x16 would fit inside. Roofrack would handle about 400 lbs. Built my back deck, hauled all the lumber on it. Could put 6x 6x6x12" on it. Heated seats, 26 mpg car. Sold it at 225k miles. |

Really, when you think about it, it's the 3 box sedan form factor that doesn't make sense. They're neither practical nor are they sporty. Where is your God now?
"The E63 S wagon cages a sinister-sounding 603-hp twin-turbo V-8 mated to a nine-speed automatic transmission and standard 4Matic+ all-wheel drive. This setup helped the superwagon we tested explode from zero to 60 mph in 3 seconds flat and obliterate the quarter-mile in 11.2 seconds at 126 mph." Saw several in GE. The brake discs are ridiculous, they must be 18 inches across. Battlecruiser |

Because wagons and hatchbacks are extremely functional vehicles. They're more practical for the majority of people who end up buying SUVs and trucks. That is unless you really do want or need the extra space or an open bed. I really, really want a sports wagon as my next vehicle. I currently have a a sports coupe that is due for replacement, and I'd like something fun to drive (which rules out most SUVs). The WRX is too boy racerish, Mercedes, BWM, and Audi are not something I'd want to own outside of warranty. The Volvo V60 looks nice, but they aren't exactly known for sporty handling.
Any suggestions? |

No. They suck compared to a good wagon. Most have less room than a station wagon while having a high center of gravity so they drive like a buggy. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

I live 30-50 minutes away from shopping and a sedan wouldn't hold enough when we do hit multiple stores so it's either a wagon/hatchback or an SUV. Plus dogs.

0-60 in about 4 seconds if that kind of thing interests you. For $150k I’d personally go a different direction but racing against Porsche’s with babies and dogs in the back is a niche scenario |
