Quoted: There’s a lot of folks in this thread virtue signaling about how those of us poors who are getting a check are leaches and FSA, oddly a large portion of them aren’t sporting an avatar. View Quote Very ironic isn't it? In fact this thread is probably setting a GD record for Virtue Signaling. |

So far, my income has thankfully not been affected by all of this. If that continues (praying for that), and if we do get a check, wife and I have already talked about just gifting it to someone who hasn't been so lucky and could really use it.

Free? How about I get some of my own money, confiscated by the IRS, back?
What principals?
If my understanding is right I'll only get about $500. And fuck yes I'll take it. |
The way I look at it is your grandkids owe me this
I won't be getting a check, though. |

Quoted: This. But if anyone here honestly believes it’s even a fair deal, and that this two trillion dollar POS our congress is passing won’t have negative effects for years to come. They are kidding themselves. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted: Quoted: Pretty much this in all honesty. This. I don't like it, but they are going to spend the 2 trillion anyway. I'd rather see some of it go back to the taxpayers rather than into politician's pockets. |

This is a, hmmm, government creates problem, and so I'm going to accept the government solution.
I mean it's, take the check and keep our house that we worked and saved up, and did so much to finally get. or be "principled", And be unable to make our mortgage payment, get kicked out of our house, and go live with one of our parents. Hmmmm which one should I choose, that is a really tough question... |
My household paid just under $9,000 in combined income tax, by all accounts, I qualify for Trump Bucks and will be happy to take it.
If major companies are not too proud to have their hands out for my tax dollars then why should I?
<---not getting trumpbux (as it is written which I think is single you get the max until $75k and then nothing after $100K)....don't really care
As a side note, pay close attention to what is considered income for this. Its just not your tax statement from 2018. |
Th middle class always gets screwed. They bail out the companies, they bail out those who make under 99k a year. The middle always gets the shaft.

Quoted: You all still believe you're getting a large check? 2 trillion to adult citizens approx $2000 per citizen x 327 million citizens in ???? and $500 per child x 74 million (unless that has changed). Rough estimate is $750 billion of that will be spent and thats being generous. That is assuming that every single adult in the country who is a citizen gets $2000 and every child gets $500. Where does the other $1.25 trillion go, hmm? View Quote You’re population figures are a bit off. There’s only about 327 million total people in the US. So roughly 250 million adults and 74 million kids. Additionally, I believe there are two monthly payments figured into this. Not a one time thing, one in April, one in May. |
May not be eligible but if I get one I will send it right back to the government in the form of tax payments for things I don't agree with and have a clean conscience doing it.

I will be writing a check for EDIT: TOO FUCKING MUCH on June 15, so I will not return one fucking cent our thieving government might send.
No one who gets one is going to give it up. You can take that to the bank.

Quoted: An awful lot of folks qualify..... A career cop and career nurse with two kids in my household, we are doing OK, we still qualify for the entire amount. Easily. View Quote Yep. Arfcom always forgets the median income in the US is $32k, average is only $45k and 72% of working people in the US make under $99k. Outside of large cities and their suburbs, most of the country just fine making less than 6 figures. |

I haven't seen the details that finally passed but last I heard anyone making over $65K isn't getting shit. My dead beat daughter that refuses to work however, will most likely get $2000 for herself and two kids she squeezed out.

I'm going to cycle it directly into the gun industry. I suggest everybody do the same. This could be the biggest boon to firearms manufacturers since Obama.
Chateau IronHand is a single-income household with a disabled spouse, and we watch every dollar. If we qualify we will take it.
How about they return ALL my tax money? Fuck yes I'll take my money back.
Can anyone link to something that shows how they're going to calculate how much you get?
I doubt I'll see any checks, but if I do I'd consider it a tax refund.
Unless I am missing something it doesn’t seem like the bill they look likely to agree upon will include these “free checks”. Just watching the news and Mitch and Chuck only mentioned healthcare $$, big business aid and extended and increased unemployment benefits.
Not to say that they didn’t leave it out but I would think a 1K+ to the general working Joe would be pitching point for both sides. |
I won't qualify for it because I made too much money.
That said, I would definitely take it because I have paid more than my fair share of taxes and any little bit I can get back is a good thing. |
If they want to give back some of the money they stole from me, then I will do my part and spend it all on ammo, hookers, and blow. It’s only right.
Of course not. The government has stolen hundreds of thousands of my money. I will gladly take them for a fraction of what they've stolen from me.
If I wasnt so rich, per the government, and actually were eligible for a check I wouldnt accept it. If they forced me I would give the money to my childrens teachers.
Unless my friends pay me back with what they get, I get nothing.
I've gone through over 50 years working and paying taxes every one of those years. I've never taken anything from the government all my life and it damn sure won't happen now.
I doubt I will get one, but if I did, it's my tax money so yes I'm keeping it. Why would I turn down my money getting returned?
