There's still one left not far from me, a stand-alone Baskin-Robbins.

Yeah, there's a stand-alone Baskin Robins less than a block from me.  It's in a small strip center, and not part of any fast food place, gas station, or anything.  It's just a small ice cream parlor.  I don't think they even have a separate party room for birthdays like some of them used to have.  Anyway, it's been there for years and every 18 mo or so I'll get a pint.

That sounds like the few "Godfather Pizza Restaurant"s still out there. Their chain/franchise died off but a few local places kept their name.  They used to have the commercials when the Mafia  was dealing with getting  the pizza to their way.  The 1st "God Father" Film had been released we all know how famous the 3 films are for their name and quality, which the Godfather's used to boost their image, they also had really good food back then.

That made me remember Eckerd Pharmacy. They were everywhere in FL. Apparently went bankrupt and bought by CVS.

Royale Airlines in the southeast US in the 80s. I imagine a lot of small regional airlines went out of business. I flew on them 45 years ago in a Gruman Gulfstream, at least that's what the thing in the seatback said. I think maybe 8 poeple on the flight. In flight meal was a donut.

From wiki their home  base was Shreveport. I flew from Shreveport to Baton Rouge. Super quick flight but I wanted to fly at 8.

CompUSA  a big box store of nothing but various computer parts , software and games.  Back when everyone would build/upgrade their own without having to order parts from the only online choices left. Where they had software for all the older systems still in the back corner before retro computers became cool.

Fry's Electronics same massive computer store concept that was working it way towards middle America.

Although they weren't  big or known outside of maybe the surrounding counties, I miss the local "Science and Hobby Shop". Back when having place was special, and  rallying point for like minded people of all ages.
