I like it and think they will sell well. For its capabilities it's a lot of car for 60K new.
Some are going to poo poo about it being mid engined but GM had to do it that way to improve the performance over what the C7 can do. |

Anything more than a couple pistols and a range bag is too much for it to carry? Yeah, no. If you don't like the looks of it that's cool, but don't make up lies to try and justify your opinion. So you're telling us that GM gave you a pre-production C8 to physically test all three of your cute little scenarios? Yeah, that's what I thought. So it's all just assumptions on your part. The front is decidedly Corvette, the rear definitely had Corvette qeues but being mid engine is difficult to maintain a "style"

Doing some more reading I'm astounded that GM can sell this car for $60k. I bet they could have kept the Vette and sold this car as the Zora for $100k easily. It will be interesting to see if GM holds this price point or if they gradually start increasing it over the years.

I will get one of these The Z06 and the fake z06 (grand sport) stepped up the looks of the C7 big time. Boomers hate the re-design, but in the end it's a smart bet by Chevy to do it this way.
Boomers are gonna die off soon, and younger people with money will be attracted to this car because of the looks and performance. It's just demographics. The future is now old men. Plus a sub 3 second 0-60 for under 60k is a hell of a bargain. |

I’m on the fence- I’ll agree it’s a sweet car for the 60k tag. A couple notes being missed here
1) $60k is going to be your base base model. He notes the 0-60 under 3 is the z model which if I had to guess will be 100+. Also HP numbers quoted are also dependent on exhaust 2) real world reviews will be interesting 3) my opinion is it’s a little over done to the point of looking toy ish That said they will sell a shit ton. I would like to drive one and at the 60k point this will replace the mustang for hitting light poles |

car is a potential winner. some will whine about the DCT, some will whine about the rear end, some will whine about the buttons.
i may buy one, i may not. here's whats gonna make it or break it for me.. gremlins as in electrical gremlins. case in point. i am also interested in the new wrangler. but if you go to the forums there are a lot of complaints about problems with the computers and sensors. car shuts off while driving, car warns you its gonna shutoff soon, electric power steering stops working, ESS stops working, radio stops working, alternator stops working. there is more than one person who has had the dealer literally replace the dashboard, the wiring harness and a lot of sensors and still not resolve electrical issues. new cars have very complicated canbus systems. in such systems, a wiring ground, loose wire, bad sensor anywhere in the car can cause serious problems. this corvette will be have the most complicated electronics of any vette ever made, and probably, when its first produced, the most complicated electrical system in any chevvy. and its a completely new car and its mass produced. so... that is what i will be paying attention to when its first available. and i hope chevvy does a better job of building this car than FCA did with the new wrangler. time will tell. |

Quoted: I took a lot of time to create 3 scenarios, just because I knew the tendency of posters to brush off any single argument. To make your arguments, you have to specifically tailor your load to the C8, and ignore the beach trip, and contort the argument to another car entirely. Weak Sauce. I show 3 realistic trips, and could show more, like the very real company trip I took in my C7 to an office in Minnesota. I had 4 Ethernet switches, several firewalls & APs, all in original boxes, along with a grip of network tools & a generous travel bag, all in the C7 trunk. After the job, I took a couple of days off to visit a friend in North Dakota, then blasted back down through ND & SD at (CoC) unmentionable speeds. That's life with the C7. The C8 would have to stay home, and I'd have to take a rental car to get the equipment on site. You can like the C8 for it's looks or HP, but otherwise, it's another damn European-styled day-tripper.
