Please knock it off with the whole "you hurt my daughter, i kill you" crap. comes across as weak.
Was talking on phone with girl I had one date with, but respect enough for more. Unbeknownst to me, her family is there and her dad asks to speak with me. Then proceeds with the whole 'what do you want with my baby girl" tripe... and you absolutely cannot say it over the phone and be convincing, you are not Liam Neeson. 
I was polite but even if he was joking like he claimed at the end of the talk, he still sounds like a douchebag. The fact he's not a Frank Sinatra fan didn't help him either. I don't blame him for being protective, I would be the same but there are better ways of going about it. For starters, this should have been done in person. Rant off.. |

My daughter is not old enough to date, but when she is if a guy feels that he does not need to answer a question from me it is over. If I catch a disrespectful little dick doing something he should not be doing I will press charges. If that does not work then I would let it slide. Yea, like do nothing and walk away. Yea really. I will always have an alibi.

Every girl I ever knew with a hardass father who pulled that shit was a fuck-toy.
I had a couple dads give me the badass routine, didn't stop me from dating or fucking their daughters. In fact, made it funner. I am polite to my daughter's boyfriends, I spent my parenting time trying to be a good dad and making her understand how boys work and what is a good one and what is a bad one. That matters more than trying to Jack Bauer them on date night. |

As a woman, fathers of daughters: don't let the mothers of your daughters ever convince them that the other girls are mean "because they're jealous." This is setting them for a lifetime of ego and hubris. The other girls might be mean because they're pmsing, just feel like it, or heaven forbid your snowflake started it. Seriously, these girls grow up into the most awful women to work with and I imagine they're no treat to date/marry either. Put your foot down, dads, because moms fuck this up all the time.

I never once told either of my daughters dates to treat them well or I would hurt them. Never saw the reason but then again I never saw myself as weak adn needing to clarify something that does not even need to be said. Why embarrass my girls? Besides they made it clear to their dates what would happen lol. I firmly believe if you are a good dad, you do not need to say shit. The girls will say it for you.
One date I had the weenie father gave me a similar speech. I expected it because it was easy to tell he was trying so damned hard to seem like a hard ass "good father" lol. Its was comically pathetic. She ended up being a total slut. Another date the dad was cool as shit and gave me the please respect our wishes speech but the guy was cool and confident in his daughter. She was a great girl and there was no need for him to act tough. We dated for a long while. I had no doubt he would have cleaned my clock had I done something stupid. the other guy? Banged his daughter on his favorite recliner lol. |
