People are on edge with all these landshark attacks happening.

In college we lived in a high rise apartment.  Two identical buildings, a north and south tower.  

College kids coming and going all the time so we didn’t lock our doors when we were home during the day.  So many times someone either entered the wrong building or got off on the wrong floor and walked into our apartment.  We didn’t find it threatened.   We found it hilarious.  Wish I got a pic just as someone waltzed in and realized “oh shit!  Wrong apartment”.

My roommate did that.  He walked in to the apartment in the other building.  Realized this apartment was clean and nicely decorated.  Did the “Oh shit!” and backed the fuck out.  Luckily we didn’t shoot everyone or get shot.

No way.  EVERYONE IS A THREAT!  Why, your own family could be plotting to kill you RIGHT NOW!  Shoot first is the only way to be safe.

Well, if they are trespassing on my gravel I'm already on edge.  It's possible they stole some flowers or rocks and were just repositioning their car for a further assault.  This is just an unfortunate situation where nobody was wrong.

Listening to the radio today, someone surmised the shooter had mafia ties and thought it was a hit.

Growing up in the country, once at ~1 AM while I was studying there was a knock on the door. Now, normally if someone drove in you would hear the car, but this was just someone who walked up to our house in the middle of the night.

Not long before there were three murders in the area, and I had a S&W 1917 with me. I answered the door (probably not the smart move) with gun in hand. It was a fairly young white guy, asking where "room XY" was. I directed him to cross the highway, then called BP and reported him as an illegal.

Maybe I need to watch that.

It’s a big country with something like 350 million people in it. Bad shit happens every single day. The national media just cherry picks what they report on.

An illegal’s infant crawled out the front door at night while his dad was drunk, and got run over by a white guy in my home town.The infant was killed instantly and the white guy got out of the car, grief stricken. The illegal beat the shit out of the white guy, almost killing him. It did not make national news.

It is starting to sound like this is a much more common occurrence than we were lead to believe.

I'm guess I'm going to have to start adding door knocking measures to my armed carry set up.

Never know when door knocking giving out church fliers or handing the neighbor their mail will turn into an old fashioned draw down.

A girl I knew in college was previously a druggy. When she found out where I lived, she told me a story of how some friends of hers just left her out there when they were driving around doing drugs.

She went to a house to use the phone, the guy there tried to get her into bed but eventually relented and let her make the call.

But I'd consider it dangerous going up near houses at dark. I used to hike around at dark on bright days but made a point of staying far from any residences.

They consume doom porn and they are scared.

Maybe mafia maybe not the guy was apparently a construction boss...New reports on the guy. Turns out it wouldn't be so far fetched. Neighbor said the guy gets into beefs with people, thought right away if shit happened it'd probably be this guy. Also said his driveway gets mistaken for a road and he gets pissed off all the time

Said he's piece of shit, says he's a narrsacist and rages a lot. 2 days before this shooting he went to the same building where hes now in court to the DMV and blew up about something, and ended up storming out after causing a scene  

and new story from the shooter. He thought he was gonna get whacked, Claims a couple cars and a motorcycle came flying up his driveway road and he was in fear

Apparently guy had his attorney ready to go. It was 10pm saturday night and he called his attorney and got him on the phone while he had a "stand off" was going on to get things going

He does have a prior aggravated assault with a firearm charge in vermont

It was a shotgun. She was hit in the neck by a shotgun slug while in the front seat with her boyfriend driving. The weapons was fired twice, once striking the car, and once striking her

'Gillis and six friends — three of them in the vehicle in which she was a front-seat passenger, two more in a second vehicle and another on a motorcycle — mistakenly drove up Monahan’s unpaved driveway just before 10 p.m. that night as they searched for a friend’s house'. The shooters excuse was he thought a group was coming up there to get him as he apparently was a hot head who didn't always make friends. He was also pissed that cars would get lost and drive up his road

They were 1/2 mile from their correct destination so close that the people there heard the shots being fired. A neighbor also saw the incident go down. The kids had to drive 5 miles to finally get a good 911 call after 2 calls dropped. They likely wouldn't have gotten him so fast if it wasn't for another 911 call of the shots fired from a neighbors house and put it together.

The guy didn't know he hit them and thought cops were there for a noise disturbance call after shooting , he thought he shot the ground around them as some kind of warning

News is talking how a shotgun slug is "designed to kill large game, 3 times the size of a handgun round and there was no permit required to possess it"  no scary black rifle in this incident but politicians pointing fingers over lack of cell phone coverage and squandering millions of dollars the state has received for expanding cell coverage


VP Harris called the Gillis family. Biden called the family of the other kid who got shot at the wrong door

I did this in the burbs once.

My aunt and uncle bought a new house in a development, we had the address but I flip flopped two of the numbers in it when I wrote it down.

All the houses looked identical, so we pull in, I get out and stretch for a second, my wife gets out, and we stroll on up to the front door cool as cucumbers.

Knock on the door.....some random dude answers....well shit. Wrong house.

We apologized and left and drove around for another 15 minutes trying to figure it out. Shit happens, and people are crazy.
