Yeah, loose snow wouldn't do anything. My bet is on a chunk of ice or a rock or other junk thrown up by your wheel when you were spinning them. Out of curiosity, how much snow do you usually see during the winter in one snowfall, and are you in the north or south part of the state? |
Don't confuse where I live with where I'm from.

I don't think I really secured the wire all that great when I did the install. I routed the wire differently on the driver's side more securely which I think helped. I will use this to reroute the wire better so this doesn't happen again. All things considered, things could have ended much, much worse than they did. If all I suffer is ripped wiring, I will considering myself lucky. There were news reports of a huge number of wrecks and people who spun off into ditches. That could have easily been me. I don't think I did any damage to the car so I'm thankful for that. But I never want to drive again in those conditions. |

You might consider getting some of that wire protector split tubing to help protect the wires. I forget what they call it. Let me see if I can find an example... This sort of thing: https://www.walmart.com/ip/Absolute-USA-SLT38-3-8-Inch-x-100-Feet-Split-Loom-Tube/983140865 |
