Cull of Ireland’s dairy cattle for climate targets should be ‘voluntary’, farmers say

Agriculture can play ‘significant role’ in climate journey ahead, milk suppliers’ representative says

Any plan to cull Ireland’s dairy herd must be voluntary, the Irish Creamery Milk Suppliers Association has warned.

Pat McCormack told Newstalk Breakfast that “if there is to be a scheme, it needs to be a voluntary scheme. That’s absolutely critical because there’s no point in culling numbers from an individual who has borrowed on the back of a huge financial commitment on the back of achieving a certain target that’s taken from under him.

Up to 65,000 dairy cows a year could be culled as the Government moves to bring the agriculture sector in line with climate targets, according to a report by the Irish Independent.

An internal Department of Agriculture briefing paper sought to find ways to help the sector “close the gap” on emissions.

But Mr McCormack said farmers should be brought along in any change in strategy and were willing to play their role in the “environmental journey” ahead.

“We should be investing in an infrastructure that can deliver from a scientific perspective. And we know low emissions are better and we should be continuing to invest in further science and research because that’s absolutely critical as we move forward,” he said.

“This isn’t a start. This isn’t the end. This is an environmental journey and agriculture can play a significant role there.” Farmers are willing to do their part from an environmental impact perspective, but it was important to acknowledge that the current dairy herd was at the same level as it was 30 years ago, said Mr McCormack.

Numbers had fallen due to quotas more than 10 years ago, but had risen again in the past number of years.

Mr McCormack said that if a cull were to be introduced and it was voluntary, then some farmers would refuse while others would exit the dairy sector. Equally there were farmers in other sectors who would also like the opportunity to reduce or to exit and that opportunity was not being afforded to them, which was “a huge disappointment”.

I saw a news story on TV yesterday about a trend of using credit cards to pay rent.  The angle of the story was that people were doing that to rack up bonus points for flight miles, cash back, etc….

How many do you think are actually doing that?

Americans owe $1 trillion in credit card debt

America’s credit card balance has passed $1 trillion, or it’s about to, depending on whom you ask.

The average interest rate on a new card is 24 percent, the highest figure since the Reaganomics era.

A typical American household now carries $10,000 in credit card debt, by one estimate, another record.

If that doesn’t sound like a lot of debt, try paying it off. At $250 per month, with 24 percent interest, you’ll be making payments until 2030, and you’ll spend a total of $20,318, twice what you owed. And that assumes you never use the card again.

“It’s hard to build wealth when you’re paying 20 percent interest every month,” said Ted Rossman, a senior industry analyst at Bankrate.com.

The nation’s credit card debt stands at $986 billion, according to the Federal Reserve. The figure has climbed by $250 billion in two years.

Mexico Highway Shootout Leaves 10 Armed Men Dead, 4 Police Injured

Reuters) - A shootout on a northern Mexican highway left 10 suspected criminals dead and four police officers injured, authorities said late on Monday.

"Police officers managed to kill 10 heavily armed suspected criminals on the Monterrey-Nuevo Laredo highway," an official statement said. The clash took place Monday afternoon after officers were attacked, it said.

Four police officers were injured, the statement added, though all were reported to be in stable condition.

The authorities said they seized 12 large-caliber weapons, grenades, a hundred pieces of ammunition as well as three armored trucks.

The shootout comes as the country struggles with drug cartel violence and a high homicide rate.

In the central Mexican state of San Luis Potosi early on Tuesday, two members of the armed forces were killed in an attack by suspected organized crime members, according to a separate statement by authorities.

ONLY 81% NOW IRISH BORN – AND 70% OF POPULATION GROWTH IN CENSUS FROM MIGRATION

This is given as 12% “non Irish citizens” but does not include people born outside of Ireland who have dual citizenship or who have acquired Irish citizenship.

The CSO’s more detailed table shows that just 81% of those enumerated in the 2022 Census were born in Ireland. That represents an increase of just 135,164 from the 2016 Census, and a sharp decline of 4% in the percentage of people living within the state who can properly be described as Irish having been born here.

Globalists revving up plans to engineer global famine and starvation: 13 nations agree to convert over to less-productive ‘green’ farming methods

The global climate cult is getting ready to kick its war on food into overdrive with 13 nations – many of them major cattle and food-producing states led by the United States, Argentina, Brazil, Chile and Spain – signing onto a commitment to place farmers under new restrictions intended to reduce emissions of methane gas.

The Global Methane Hub announced in a May 17 press release that agriculture and environmental ministers and ambassadors from 13 countries, including the United States, have signed a commitment that pledges to reduce methane emissions in agriculture. The U.S. was represented by Biden’s climate czar, John Kerry.

What does this mean and why should you care? We’ll break it down.
.
.
So it’s curious to me that, at the very time the globalists are warning about food shortages and famine, their mouthpieces at the World Bank, the U.N., and within the administrations of the U.S. and its allies (notice China and Russia are nowhere to be found in these preposterous anti-food policies), are talking about converting over to a new and unproven form of “sustainable” farming that’s focused more on reducing methane than it is on producing the highest yields of food.

Modern food production is bad, they tell us, because it produces methane which supposedly harms the environment.

“Food systems are responsible for 60% of methane emissions,” said Marcelo Mena, CEO of Global Methane Hub. “We congratulate countries willing to take the lead in food systems methane mitigation and confirm our commitment to support this type of initiative with programs that explore promising methane mitigation technologies and the underpinning research of methane mitigation mechanisms to create new technologies.”
.
.

.
.
I’ve also reported extensively on the Deagel forecast, which forecasted a nearly 70 percent reduction in the population of America by 2025, with similarly drastic population declines for the U.K., Germany, Canada, Australia and other NATO-aligned countries.

There is no more efficient way to depopulate than through war, famine and plagues. Isn’t it interesting that all three of these time-tested methods of murder are in play right now?

The war on food is very similar to what’s going on in the energy sector, where governments are colluding with big business to transform all transportation from gas-powered to electric-powered, meaning far fewer people will be able to afford electric cars, and even if they can afford them, the use of those cars will be much more tightly monitored and controlled due to the need for charging stations that rely on an already overtaxed power grid. If you can’t charge your car up when you want to, only when you are allowed to, you have now turned over your freedom of movement to the regulators of those charging stations.

In the food industry, Big Agriculture will also collude with the governments of the world to produce much less beef, chicken and pork, replacing that protein with insects and lab-grown fake meat, the health effects of which are largely unknown.

Webinar | Kinetic War on the U.S. Home Front: The CCP’s Plans to Attack America

Is Xi Jinping’s Putting in Motion an Insurgency Here to Win a Shooting War?

Eyewitness accounts of large numbers of unaccompanied, fighting-age men who appear to be fit, similarly equipped and moving in groups through Latin America, across what was once the United States’ southern border and disappearing into our nation raises a profoundly important question: If the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) is actually preparing to complete its longstanding “unrestricted warfare” aimed at taking down the USA with a violent military conflict, is its dictator, Xi Jinping, setting the stage for attacks not just on Taiwan and our Indo-Pacific allies, but ones that would strike decisively in our homeland, as well?

This CPDC webinar addresses the evidence that by some estimates 5 battalions worth of what may be People’s Liberation Army special operations personnel – roughly 5,000 men – have been insinuated into this country in organized units over the past few months and continuing today.

It also examines: the doctrinal basis for surprise Chinese attacks in our rear; the vulnerabilities in this country that would likely be targeted and exploited; and those who, in addition to possible recently arrived military elements, might undertake such missions including: Ministry of State Security spies; “Overseas Police” and those they coercively control; and/or other Chinese assets in place, like “businessmen,” scientists and researchers or some of the PRC’s 300,000 students in this country.

I finally got around to watching the Sean Ryan interview with David Tice from the thread posted by DaGoose that’s linked below.  It’s worth taking the time to watch.

https://www.ar15.com/forums/General/David-Tice-The-Power-Grid-Blackout-America-s-WORST-Enemy-Could-Attack-Any-Moment-SRS-60/5-2648732/?page=1

What caught my attention early on is David’s reference to following a few names from the Webinar I posted just a week ago with David Gaffney and J.R. Nyquist being the main ones.

It’s not a matter of if but when and the clock has been in countdown mode for a while now.

The part about Russian defector Stanislav Lunev’s detailed information with Russia & China collaborating against the United States has also been mentioned by J.R. Nyquist as proof that the speculated secret speech given by General Chi Haotian to CCP leadership back in the early 2000s is legitimate.

We’re way past coincidences at this point.

Suspected Chinese spies, disguised as tourists, tried to infiltrate Alaskan military bases

ANCHORAGE, Alaska – Chinese citizens posing as tourists but suspected of being spies have made several attempts in recent years to gain access to military facilities in this vast state studded with sensitive bases, according to U.S. officials.

In one incident, a vehicle with Chinese citizens blew past a security checkpoint at Fort Wainwright in Fairbanks, several soldiers told USA TODAY. The vehicle was eventually stopped, and a search found a drone inside the vehicle. The occupants claimed they were tourists who had gotten lost.

Many of the encounters have been chalked up to innocent mistakes by foreign visitors intent on viewing the northern lights and other attractions in Alaska, officials say. Other attempts to enter U.S. military bases, however, seem to be probes to learn about U.S. military capabilities in Alaska, according to multiple soldiers familiar with the incidents but who were not authorized to speak publicly about them.

Not all who appear to be tourists in Alaska, are, in fact tourists, one Army officer said. Instead, they are foreign spies.

Brick and Mortar is dying...

The overall delinquency rate for commercial mortgage-backed securities (CMBS) skyrocketed in May by 53 basis points to 3.62%, according to new data from Trepp LLC.

The CMBS delinquency rate is now at its highest level since March 2022, while the 53-basis point upswing was the largest since June 2020. Trepp noted that it does not include delinquent loans that are past their maturity date but are current in interest payments as part of its data, but if they were included the delinquency rate would be 4.99%.

The abrupt rise in the delinquency rate was attributed to office properties – this sector’s standalone delinquency rate was up 125 basis points to 4.02%. This is the first time in five years that the office rate was above 4%.

“Office has been the most heavily watched part of the market as firms look to aggressively reduce space,” said Manus Clancy, senior managing director at Trepp. “Sublease space is at or near record highs in many markets as demand from big tech firms has eroded sharply. In addition, many companies are letting leases expire or are renewing with smaller footprints. At the end of May 2023, Google announced it was offering up 1.4 million square feet in Northern California for sublease.”

Among commercial real estate’s sectors, the retail delinquency rate climbed 56 basis points to 6.67% (the second greatest increase behind office property) while the delinquency rates on multifamily, industrial and lodging properties were all down for the month.

I've been calling out the commercial collapse since the shutdowns began. I do maintenance work on commercial buildings. I have had exactly 0 return to full occupancy.

When these leases start ending a lot of tenants will not be renewing.

Water is becoming the new gold, except more valuable.

Arizona announces limits on construction in Phoenix area as groundwater disappears

Arizona officials announced Thursday the state will no longer grant certifications for new developments within the Phoenix area, as groundwater rapidly disappears amid years of water overuse and climate change-driven drought.

A new study showed that the groundwater supporting the Phoenix area likely can’t meet additional development demand in the coming century, officials said at a news conference. Gov. Katie Hobbs and the state’s top water officials outlined the results of the study looking at groundwater demand within the Phoenix metro area, which is regulated by a state law that tries to ensure Arizona’s housing developments, businesses and farms are not using more groundwater than is being replaced.

The study found that around 4% of the area’s demand for groundwater, close to 4.9 million acre-feet, cannot be met over the next 100 years under current conditions – a huge shortage that will have significant implications for housing developments in the coming years in the booming Phoenix metro area, which has led the nation in population growth.

It's been a few years ago now but last time I went to Phoenix, they had more golf courses per capita than anywhere else I've ever been. Given that it's in a desert, that seems like an incredible waste of water. And, surprise, surprise, surprise, they find out they're going to run out of water. Well, duh.

I remember when some were telling people to get the hell out of New Orleans before Hurricane Katrina comes ashore because the city is actually below sea level.
