Typical of the media; more heat than light. They tell us that Maersk had record profits, but then give us the gross numbers and not net profit.
They do the same thing with oil company profits.
Just more media BS!!

https://www.theepochtimes.com/biden-faces-growing-criticism-for-self-inflicted-diesel-crisis_4836993.html

https://gettr.com/post/p1wjkk36e16

Biden Faces Growing Criticism for Self-Inflicted ‘Diesel Crisis

Republicans have intensified their criticism of President Joe Biden and his energy policies for the shortage of distillate fuel oil that they’re calling a looming “diesel crisis” that will hurt American families.

Data from the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) show that diesel stockpiles, in October, are at their lowest level among records that go back some 14 years. As of Oct. 21, the United States had nearly 26 days of supply, a drop from around 34 days five weeks ago.

While the White House has not announced any specific measures to address the diesel shortage, Republicans have blamed the Biden administration’s policies for exacerbating the crunch.

“Joe Biden and Congressional Democrats created a DIESEL CRISIS by attacking our domestic energy production with a radical ‘Green New Deal.’ Farms will shut down, trucks won’t be able to deliver groceries, and seniors won’t have heat. Under Trump, we had Energy Independence!” Rep. Mary Miller (R-Illinois) posted on Twitter.

“Many Tennesseans rely on diesel to make a living—from farmers to truckers. The looming diesel crisis will have a ripple effect on our supply chains and the cost of goods. Unleash American energy,” Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.) wrote in a statement on social media.

The Epoch Times has reached out to the White House for comment.

‘Astonishing Economic Success Story’ Under Trump?

Former President Donald Trump championed domestic energy production by advancing policies that included streamlining drilling approvals and rolling back Obama-era methane emission rules.

“There are few issues where Trump and President Joe Biden have differed more broadly on policy than on energy production,” former Trump adviser Steven Moore wrote in an op-ed in The Epoch Times, calling Trump’s policies an “astonishing economic success story.”

“Trump went full speed on fossil fuel production,” Moore said, noting that the former president lifted drilling curbs, approved pipelines, and “blocked new extreme environmental regulations that were intended to choke off our oil and gas supplies.”

“He recognized the shale oil and gas revolution as an unparalleled opportunity to reduce reliance on foreign oil,” Moore said.

By contrast, Biden has signed a number of executive orders since taking office that have targeted the oil industry, such as revoking the Keystone XL pipeline permit, freezing new oil and gas drilling leases on federal lands and waters, and ending fossil fuel subsidies by certain agencies.

‘Self-Inflicted Energy Crisis’ Under Biden?

In their criticism of the diesel shortage, Republicans have called on the president to adopt policies that would boost domestic energy production.

Rep. Pat Fallon (R-Texas), for example, said in a statement on social media that without diesel fuel, American families will have a hard time heating their homes, supply chains will grind to a halt, and “the economy will fold.”

“It’s time for Joe to fix this SELF-INFLICTED energy crisis,” Fallon said.

Sen. Cynthia Lummis (R-Wy.) said in a statement on social media that the nation’s diesel supply is “alarmingly low” and that the Biden administration “needs to increase domestic energy production to stop this dangerous shortage.”

“The Diesel shortage NO Democrat is talking about is going to wreak havoc on American families. They are a DISASTER!” said Darius Mayfield, a Republican candidate for New Jersey’s 12th congressional district, in a statement on social media.

Trump, in remarks at the America First Policy Institute summit at the end of July, said he saw the upcoming midterm elections as an opportunity to vote for candidates that seek to make the United States more energy independent by bolstering domestic energy production and “bring America back from the brink.”

Moore has estimated that the cost of moving away from Trump’s energy independence policies would run into the tens of billions of dollars per year.

The Heritage Foundation, a conservative think tank, has repeatedly argued that the Biden administration’s policies would increase energy costs for American families, who have already seen decades-high inflation hit their wallets.

Brazilian Election Result Looks Rigged

The Presidential Election in Brazil resembles the 2020 Election in the US. The operation looks like what we referred to as the Drop and Roll in the 2020 Election.

Reuters reported on the election in Brazil yesterday with the following report this morning:

Brazil’s outgoing President Jair Bolsonaro had on Monday yet to concede defeat in the presidential election, raising fears the far-right nationalist might contest the victory of his leftist rival, former president Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva.

Tens of thousands of jubilant supporters took to the streets of Sao Paulo on Sunday night to celebrate a stunning comeback for Lula, a 77-year-old former metalworker who served two terms as president from 2003 to 2010. His electoral win follows a spell in prison for corruption convictions that were later annulled.

Bolsonaro left his residence on Monday morning and headed to the presidential palace, but had still not made any public comments. He is the first Brazilian incumbent to lose a presidential election. Lula has vowed to overturn his legacy, including pro-gun policies and weak protection of the Amazon rainforest.

What Reuters fails to mention is that like the 2020 Election in the US, conservatives cleaned houses across the board in the legislature and in governor’s offices and yet Bolsonaro somehow lost the Presidency to a socialist tied to China.

Steve Bannon interviewed Mathew Tyrmand on the Brazil election. Here are some excerpts from their discussion.

- Bolsonaro’s party dominated the election and with the other conservative parties, will dominate the lower House in Brazil.

- Bolsonaro was winning the election up to a certain point and then every ballot drop was won by the socialist candidate. “The math doesn’t make sense at all.” Mathew Tyrmand.

- The Mainstream Media all “pounded in immediately” says Bannon to claim the win for the socialist.

- “There’s been no transparency. There’s been censorship. There’s been arrests of opposition. There’s been penalization from the court to Bolsonaro’s party.” Says Thyrmand.

- The election in Brazil is the same as the US election of 2020.

Why is the U.S. government pursuing war with Russia-China but not preparing for war with Russia-China?

The entity in Washington that calls itself the government seems to be hell-bent on war with Russia-China-Iran, deliberately placing itself on a collision course that can only lead to World War III.

And if World War II was exponentially more bloody and deadly than World War I, we should assume that World War III will be exponentially more bloody and deadly than World War II.

And yet this entity in Washington is not acting like a government preparing for what would be the biggest, nastiest, most devastating war in the history of mankind, involving all manner of weapons, conventional and non-conventional, of mass destruction.

We are not talking about Iraq under Saddam Hussein, or Afghanistan under the Taliban. This entity in Washington is poking a bear that has the world’s largest and most sophisticated nuclear arsenal on the one hand (Russia) and the world’s largest standing army (China) on the other.

Our enemies, Russia and China, are stockpiling wheat and petroleum in preparation for war.

But the U.S. is selling off its wheat and petroleum.

In fact, the US exported a record amount of wheat in September. Why?

The US exported a record amount of it's wheat to foreign countries because they simply paid more for it them it was selling for within the US market.  He mentioned China as the third largest purchaser.  I don't doubt it, they have lots of US dollars to spend.  Other countries where actual starvation is already occurring do not have the ability to outbid some of the wealthier nations for grain.  They normally purchased it from Russia and the Ukraine at a lower cost, just as Germany and Europe purchased gas sourced in Russia at a lower cost.  It is no longer available, and the populations will suffer accordingly.  Some will starve, some will freeze, many will migrate.  It is the migration that will change the course of the countries receiving the migrants.  Just as the culture is already changing in Europe and the US due to the increasing presence of migrants that refuse to assimilate into the culture of their new country.

My problem with his reporting is that he is crediting the US government for this transfer of grain.  It is the market dictating where the grain goes.  Whomever pays the most gets the grain.  If the Administration took action to limit the exports of grain (as they could), The price would drop and the producers would not be able to sell it for enough to pay for the production costs of the grain no longer being exported as well as have money to spend on this coming years production costs.

I would argue that allowing the continued export of grain is in the USA's best interests:

1) It allows other countries to feed their population, thereby reducing starvation / migration
2) It allows US farmers to receive a premium price for their crops, thereby allowing them to make a profit.
3) It allows the US farmers to continue purchasing equipment, personal, fuel, fertilizers & seed to continue growing crops, thereby preventing a famine in the future years within the USA.
4) Related to #1, The reduction in worldwide starvation will hopefully (but not likely) limit the amount of aid the US would choose to give to other countries for the purchase of food.  Every dollar given for that purchase of food increases the costs of food on the worldwide market - including the USA.

Thanks for the write-up.  I was hoping someone would respond to this article.

What hit me is that they didn’t seem interested is filling the grain reserves.  I just think this should be more about national security than making money by selling it to China, et all.

But if money is to be made, would taking that portion of the grain off of the market by placing it reserve storage not really have an affect the overall current  price?  Also, if prices rise like everyone seems to expect, wouldn’t a better profit be made by selling it later?

It’s like everybody wants in on the action that has the bomb just because the verbal nukes are flying between Russia and the US.  Things are even happening in Pakistan, yet another member of the canned sunshine club.

Also, Netanyahu is back in power in Israel.  I wouldn’t be surprised if the rhetoric to attack Iran becomes louder and louder as well.

Sooner or later, that span of not using nukes in conflict is going to be broken.  Crazy things happen in crazy times.

Yet another story....

US to deploy more nuclear-capable warplanes around Korean peninsula

The US plans to deploy more nuclear-capable warplanes around the Korean peninsula, in an effort to boost deterrence as North Korea steps up missile launches and prepares for a possible nuclear test.

Speaking at the Pentagon hours after North Korea launched several missiles, including an intercontinental ballistic missile, South Korean defence minister Lee Jong-sup said the US would increase the frequency of deployments of nuclear-capable assets to the Korean peninsula.

At a news conference with US defence secretary Lloyd Austin, Lee said Austin had pledged to respond to Pyongyang’s provocations by “employing US strategic assets to the level equivalent to constant deployment through increasing the frequency and intensity of strategic asset deployment in and around the Korean peninsula”.

I didn't think we would see much news on this but it's coming out quicker than I thought.

With all this build up it only takes one mistake and things will get out of control quick.
