That's a great beer.  My neighbors buy it by the keg.  I have helped them drain it more than a few times.

Just ordered one of each. Reviews online were intriguing so I thought I would give it a try.

Apparently Meijer has the standard sauce, and I hate Meijer (how is it different from WalMart? I mean seriously, they have the same lay out, same color schemes and everything), but they are the only store listed as carrying secret aardvark, so I went.

All they had was an empty spot for it. And only the standard sauce.  I'm not driving around all over to every Meijer (fuck Meijer) looking for this stuff.

So I hopped on the internets and found it cheaper on Amazon than on the SA site. It will be here in a couple days.

Nice, I ordered the black bean sauce. Earlier so it'll be here in a few days.

For things like that I'd rather just order it then if I happen to be shopping and see it somewhere re source it.

Some places just don't have a solid variety.

I was thinking the same, but had no bearing on what it should cost. Really wasn't much cheaper at the store and I will pay the difference just not to go to Meijer.

yes.

The conversation went like this.

Food arrives at table after wife ordered it.  I look at it.

"So you must like the hush puppies here, huh? Because I,"

"Yes I do."

Conversation ended.

The food is solid at Iron Grate. We are in agreement it is still best in the area overall (Double B's has a solid lineup too). But we were discussing tonight how we are not as in love with it as we once were. Great flavors, great sides, pretty consistently good meat.  Just getting too much of it.  We probably enjoyed it more when it was novel to have a good BBQ place.  Now, with no real competition, it is just our BBQ place.

Nice.  Portabellas for portabella burgers?

Why is there a security cable running through your meat?

I think asparagus is my favorite vegetable.  So long as it is under hollandaise sauce.

No, but good eye on the pickled onions (figured @MaxxII would like that)

It is hot links and curds with a peach chutney and pickled onions. Love it.

And this was a $2 "gelato" from another place

I swapped blades. S110v into my Para3 lightweight. I really like the LW, and the standard para 3 is ok, but bulky compared to the LW.
No problems swapping blades, and the s110 blade is just as off center as the original lw's. The standard BD1n blade works perfect in the standard Para 3, and is centered.
So, love the lightweight , don't care much for the BD1n steel's edge retention.

I love pickled onions and pickled veg in general.

I quick pickled daikon last night to brighten up my stacked layers of savory (soy sauce, mushrooms and seaweed)

Or, if you're ever up this way, brewery is just a couple miles away...

The fungus is for my wife; she usually slices them up and puts them on the meat and then uses the leftovers for tacos.

The cord keeps the mosquitoes from taking off with the rare meat, duh.

I do love asparagus and Hollandaise, though we didn't have Hollandaise this time. I make a large batch every holiday meal and it always gets wiped out - people put it on anything they can. Asparagus, potatoes, any green veggie, prime rib, turkey, ham, lamb, salad. Hell, I think my dad was putting it on apple pie just because.

I've started to make batches of Bearnaise instead of standard Hollandaise; the extra acid and flavor of reduced white wine and shallots, plus fresh tarragon...
