WIC is right about the small town vibe but with plenty of bigger city stuff nearby. Most of them appeared to have Illinois or Wisconsin plates oddly enough....I didnt see one Missouri plate in the pile.... |

I don't remember alcohol being different but it's interesting that you can't taste bananas. That was one of the few things that I lost the taste of too. They just tasted like bland mush. Mint was the other one for me. It made brushing my teeth pretty gross for a bit.(I switched to a non mint toothpaste after a couple of days. He makes a whole bunch of super gaudy, super expensive stuff that has a cult following, particularly among Emerson and Hinderer people. And flashlight people, I think. I bought a couple of his copper "dogtags" because there was one that was perfect for my wife, and then my kids wanted some, and those at least were only something like $35 so not a big deal, but his knife stuff is crazy. |

Northern Flicker woodpecker. Pretty sad, that's a very cool and good sized bird. They come around and dig in our yard a fair bit. Hate the sound when birds hit the window.

View Quote It is what sometimes happens when my wife is left to her own judgment on supper because I worked late on tax returns, then worked out when I got home. Some kind of concoction that includes, but may not be limited to, pickled garden beets, chickpeas, avocado, lemon juice, and sriracha, run through the food processor. It wasn't terrible. Thankfully, as there's still about a quart of it in the fridge. |
