You are all correct. I love it here from October through March. July and August are the absolute worst. When I retire, I'm going to Canada during the summer, drive 10mph under the speed limit everywhere I go while there, and enact my revenge for the years of putting up with the snowbirds. |

My parents owned a couple of the Datusn 210B's... Dad had a green one 2 door, 2-seater, and sold it off to buy a 2 door, 4-seater once they had my brother and I. His was blue. Mom had a red Datsun 210 wagon that was red. Mom's red wagon got smoked in a traffic accident, and Dad kept the blue 210 for a number of years. It had 310k miles on it when dad sold it for $350. He had changed the oil, and replaced two starters, a single alternator, and the clutch twice, (think he did the brakes 2-3 times can't remember). He sold it when we were stationed in Hawaii and got orders to come back to the mainland in 1990. It would have cost more to ship the car back from Hawaii than it was worth. The car had developed a surface rust pattern on the driver's side door about the size and shape as a manhole cover when dad sold it. I saw the car when I went through Hickam again in 1996 as Marine. It was driving by the MAC Terminal... Those cars didnt handle corrosion from salt, (ocean salt air or midwest salt on winter roads) real well, but they ran like tops and were easy to work on. If they still sold them, I'd buy one happily. |
