Yes, it's from Chy-na.

Yep. The thought is the important part. Even adds a few Vs to the steel

This was nearly my exact thought. I remember the post back when he got the lathe and from then till now his mastery of lathe turning has increased greatly. I’m quite impressed with the pieces he’s making even if I think some of them look like Victorian era seggs toys.

I need some of those swivel head ratchets, but don't have snap on money.

Recommendations?  Most my mechanics tools are craftsman... but I'm not loyal.

You can look around on Ebay and can find some deals. Icon (Hazard Fart) is probably where I'd tell you to go if you don't even want to spend used SO prices.

The one on the picture is from tekton. I think I paid $17 for it about 4 years ago.  I use it every day. I fully expected to break it, either in the joint or in the ratchet but it hasn't broken yet. Almost any fastener that is 13mm or smaller that I'm going to use a ratchet on, I'm grabbing that one first.  I have the two stubby ratchets from tekton and I'm happy with them as well.

I think they sell the same flex head with a 3/8" drive now as well.

I have a couple in 3/8" and 1/2".  I like them but I'm not too loyal.

Lately I've been surfing eBay looking for deals on snap-on stuff that I want to replace some of my stuff with. A lot of times they do make the best stuff. I'm migrating that way with tools that I don't want to deal with them breaking in the field.

All the tool trucks are a pita if you break something or need something in the field.

The tekton tools have proven to be reliable for me so far. The only tool I've broken from them is a 1/2" to 3/8" adapter and they responded to my warranty claim on a Sunday and I had it in a couple of days.

Sheath parts are cut out and waiting on tooling/dye and sewing, the knife is ready to get the handles glued on and sharpened. I'm hoping to get some time this weekend to work on it.

I will second DFARM's choice of Tekton. I have several of their ratchets, as well as impact and standard sockets, and they've been great.

OMG OMG sy!

For years now I have been aware of the quick release pins for watches and their use with watch bands. I always thought it would be great in a bracelet but never saw one.

BAM

this could be fun if I can replace the clasp. use some quick release pins for NATO straps, I could even work in some bands if I see any I like. Supposed to be a garden party watch, so fun to play with the look.

colors supposedly match here, not sure I am feeling it though. Funny how the 20mm feels so small compared to the 22 I am used to.

so I was looking in the drawer, so many bottle openers, but none I really loved.

I was also thinking, sometimes you need to cover your beer because of bees etc, not just using one of these for unfinished beer (because who would do that)

but then I was also thinking, what about for bottled water?

that's actually what is pictured on the packaging the opener comes in, bottled water

and it makes sense when I need to pop the top before hopping in the car. keeps everything contained on Mr. toad's wild ride until I drink enough to not spill it

so far I like it better than my other traditional church keys

Lately I've been surfing eBay looking for deals on snap-on stuff that I want to replace some of my stuff with. A lot of times they do make the best stuff. I'm migrating that way with tools that I don't want to deal with them breaking in the field.

All the tool trucks are a pita if you break something or need something in the field.

Btw... how goes project?

The tekton tools have proven to be reliable for me so far. The only tool I've broken from them is a 1/2" to 3/8" adapter and they responded to my warranty claim on a Sunday and I had it in a couple of days.

Sheath parts are cut out and waiting on tooling/dye and sewing, the knife is ready to get the handles glued on and sharpened. I'm hoping to get some time this weekend to work on it.

The heads and handles are mainly what keeps me in SO's pocket. I really like the hard handles and they've stood up to some really stupid abuse. Ratchets and flank drive wrenches are all I'll ever buy. Their screwdrivers are pretty awesome as well, but you can buy the Williams brand and have the same tool with a different name. Most other things I go with different manufacturers.

Who burned your prime rib?  They should be broken on the wheel.

this could be fun if I can replace the clasp. use some quick release pins for NATO straps, I could even work in some bands if I see any I like. Supposed to be a garden party watch, so fun to play with the look.

colors supposedly match here, not sure I am feeling it though. Funny how the 20mm feels so small compared to the 22 I am used to.

So I even want to ask what a garden party is? Is that some swinger code?

Very nice! Curious that it has a C/D type screw in the pivot. Is that the way they sell them now? Will need to do more research. Haven't been following as much since they went millennial pimping.
