PDWs make sense to me as a civilian in the suburbs. Can have some rifle like capacity/shoot ability but still be discreet.

My rattler travels with me in a kids sized backpack,  but only when I have my kids and minivan. It’s perfect camo.

The flux will likely end up in a chest rig for hiking but I’m not sure yet.

Fitting inside a medium HPG chest rig or fanny pack was my objective after the original “peaceful election year” thread but I still wanted to carry my ‘primary’ in the AIWB position.

Very small indiscreet sling bags work, too.

Here is v1.0 of my Frugal Ferret .300blk. It is definitely not in its final form.

Edit: why won’t it embed properly?

Type “twitter” instead of “x” in the posted link.

I’ve also done away with backup sights on my PDW oriented guns.

Hmm, I didn’t do anything and it changed on its own, must have taken some time for it to figure itself out. And yeah, only one of my rifles has BUIS.

This is a different closure type that I have on AK chest rigs.  Do a search for the best price and type of closure you want.

I purchased the one you linked- however for the VZ61 it appears the type 79 chest rig is better sized from what I'm reading. They say the 85 is more so more mp5/ppsh43 mag size. Either way I guess I'll find out when it arrives Friday!

Damn, beat me to it! I will end up getting one and I have an extra P365 lying around...I'll be interested in your review for both carrying and shooting...

Not sure if the dimensions would work for the P365 Flux Raider, but I just put together a grab and go sling bag with my old P365 CCW. Kelty has a purpose-built concealed carry sling bag that is pretty small. This is for those trips where my wife asks me to jump in the car for a quick ride to pick up something to eat or go check out some house for sale...and all I'm wearing are some Ranger panties, T-shirt and flip flops

I got some short guns

10” m85 AK
10.3” (damn good) mk18mod0
16” Aug
MP5
PPS43 9mm
Etc

Attachment Attached File

Maybe some of those don’t fit here

Try this - Ps90, Vz61, Scorpion, B&T320. 8.5” 300blk and 10” AK unsuppressed for length savings

Attachment Attached File

You can go shorter, no suppressors

Ps90, both scorpions, B&T could fit in this role

P90 is super neat but the round is marginal (imo) and I dont feel like stocking yet another ammo type.

Neat guns though

I have a bunch of PDW-ish guns discussed in this thread (Short barrel M16s, AC556K, MP5/MP5K, PS90, MPX, B&T chassis Glocks) They all have their different pluses & minuses in terms of size, weight, terminal ballistics, muzzle blast, semi only or select fire, controllability, etc.

However, this little guy is most "PDW" of all the PDW-ish type guns I have.  SWD M11A1 converted from .380 to 9mm via CFW-A slowfire bolt, custom 9mm barrel, co-witness SMS red dot optic, a Glock lower conversion,  and  a K sized 9mm suppressor.

Its amazing how small the little A1s are  being roughly the same size as a standard duty sized handgun vs. the amount of firepower they are capable of.  They may only be "pistol caliber" but ~900rpm of 9x19 is still a lot of energy per trigger pull.

It also makes a pretty decent machine-pistol by removing the stock and swapping the suppressor for a comp . The conversion to the ~22 degree contoured Glock grip frame (vs the 90 degree 2x4-ish block OEM MAC grip) also makes it much more comfortable/controllable to shoot two-handed without a stock or front grip installed.

I've never seen a glock lower conversion on a MAC. That's pretty cool, since it's my primary complaint on the one I've played with.

Ballistics are far better in the 10” p90 then the pistols doesn’t change stocking another caliber however.

When you fill the air with 50 marginal rounds before a mag change it's no longer marginal.

Also, anyone using a hello kitty (the one posted is really busted up - we'll call that a hello shitty backpack) or similar backpack to store your stuff are doing it right. Some of the bags posted would be worth stealing even if they were empty. Mine is a wal mart backpack from 30 years ago. It looks like ass and if you saw it laying at the side of the road you wouldn't stop. It holds a 7.5" AR with LAW folder or SBR PS90 with several reloads.
All this is MHO of course. Gray man is a thing to me.

Yep. It opens down the side. Opens quick enough, just a zipper. You could change the pull to something more optimal I suppose. Osprey makes a decent option too, that’s also cheaper. It opens from the top more like that Flux bag.

For no particular reason, I want this to be a machine pistol with the magazine outside the grip.  Make the spare mag holder the actual magazine.  Yes, I know it's probably worse in every way.  I still want it.

I did all the conversion work personally on my mill and lathe.

The body of the CFW-A bolt itself didn't require any mods  but the recoil rod, recoil spring and ejector assembly had to be modified as it came set up for the longer receiver M11/9.  I got it from a local buddy who was getting out of his M11/9 so I knew it would at least quasi run in 9x19 before I bought it.  I also tested it a bit in my M11/9 before dedicating it to this project as I have one of the original full size CFW bolts for my M11/9.

The next step is I have a hammer fired M11/380 closed bolt (for a semi auto) that I am going to rechamber to 9MM as the actual bolt face is too small for a 9x19 cartridge base.  Then use that bolt to convert it to a hammer fired closed bolt arrangement and build a new select-fire closed bolt trigger group so the first shot accuracy is better without the bolt moving as soon as you pull the trigger.

One of my friends has a transferable 93R which is a bit too rich for my wallet.  This M11A1 project was inspired to make much more "affordable" transferable 9mm PDW / machine-pistol.   Its no where near as cool or refined as his 93R but its shoot a hoot to shoot and is also ~$100K less than what one of those bixler/boatman 93Rs cost.

don't hurt me like that, I'm still annoyed that thing never came out

I want to believe the X57 will be different. It'll come out, and it'll be great. To be fair, it also isn't competing with cheap turkish imports like the MP5 would have ben (which is why they cancelled it).

I'll do a write up when the parts get here but thinking the 365 little bastard will be my go-to.

I want to believe the X57 will be different. It'll come out, and it'll be great. To be fair, it also isn't competing with cheap turkish imports like the MP5 would have ben (which is why they cancelled it).

Will probably come out right after the PSA MP5.

I’m very interested in the PSA X5.7 but also hesitant to be an early adopter on a brand new platform. The advertised release date of Q1 2025 is after the election.

It’s on my “buy” list as well.

I have a Flux brace set up with a 17.5 MOS right now.

I picked up a 17L Gen 5 MOS yesterday and it will likely get mounted in the Flux brace once I get an RMR and threaded barrel (someone needs to make one, please). I went ahead and swapped the uppers between my 17.5 and 17L.5 to see how it feels with the extra length. I like it, so far.

I'm kinda surprised that no one has made a brace for a revolver
