Today I pulled the top, seats, and rear body off. I found a rifle round in the lower trim on the driver side. Very strange place for that. Many rivets to drill out. This cart is at Our lakehouse and I will need to bring an impact diver and breaker bar over to get the rest out. I will bring my pressure washer as well on our next trip over. But I made some headway.

Looking to buy a golf car here soon for use at our condo

Already asked if we could use a SxS instead of a golf car/cart and it was a firm NO

Gas or electric car?

Im leaning toward gas due to charging logistics (have to pay to charge at a station and can't run an electric cord from the condo across any walkways..

We live within 30 min away so taking it to get gas is not an issue

You don’t have a hair on your butt if you don’t put an old school VW engine in it.

I have a 2002 EZGO workhorse that I would like to put that kit into. I'm having a hard time justifying the cost on a 2wd (really 1wd without a diff. lock) cart. A JD Gator or Kawasaki Mule would be ideal.

I got the golf cart basically for nothing. My Wife and I have a travel trailer and we go to parks
quite often. Golf carts are allowed at most of them, but SS/UTVs are not allowed in the state parks and
a lot of private campgrounds.

That is the reason why I chose to do this with a golf cart.

I got the old engine out and all of the mounts, I cursed some engineer a few times.
I decided to go farther and replace the body with an aftermarket one. That will be a surprise,
it is a cool color. I just received the aux alternator kit. The stock Predator one will not support
much electrical use. it is a 40 amp system that drives off of the fly wheel side LINK.
It will keep the battery charged while using lights, radio etc. I am waiting on the independent
front suspension that I ordered from Jake's to show up and then the full reassembly will begin.

I still need to order new wheels/tires and seats/covers. I may need to get a new rear seat mount
as I am not sure if the stock one will work nicely with the aftermarket body. I am planning
on going over there next week and hopefully can get a great deal of it done.

Very cool, Ive got a yamaha drive I want to drop a motor in

I installed the engine cradle and mount. Prepped the engine by removing the plunger out of the fuel
shut off valve on the bottom of the carb. Made the throttle a direct pull, meaning the governor cannot
pull the throttle closed. installed the Aux alternator kit and relocated the oil cooler and installed the clutch.

I hope to set it in the cart tomorrow and hopefully start it.

I had ordered an independent front suspension, but it was over a 2 month wait, I will forgo that
for now and possibly do this to a newer cart in the future.

Ive had several carts. The last 3 were electric.

Just sold this one a few months ago for $4100.
Originally bought it for $300.

I prefer the Club Cars because they are built on aluminum frames.

Looks bad ass. Is it pretty much drop in or is there a bunch of fab work needed?

Got to do more work on the cart and to answer the above question the engine is drop in with the
install kit from Vegas carts. The bad thing is that the aux alternator would not fit as designed. Not enough
room for it. I am going to modify it to work later.

I got the Mad Jax Storm body mounted over the last couple days along with some new wheels and tires.
I still have to mount the roof, recover the seats, some other minor things and reinstall trim pieces and add front
bumper, but I see the light at the end of the tunnel now. The body kit has headlights with high beam and
daytime running lights and turn signals. The rear lights have running, brake, turn signal and back up lights.

It gets up and goes pretty good. I am happy with it so far.
It is very unique as the body kit has only been in the States since February.

Thanks

It was about 80% ready to fit and another 20% required some ingenuity as there are differences between
the years that the parts fit. The front seat base is toast so I ordered another seat and will put the new cover over
it. I have probably spent the amount a new cart would cost, but the new cart would not have the uniqueness that
this one has and that makes me feel just fine.

I slapped a 420cc predator onto a concrete buggy to replace a clapped out Honda that would about rip your arm off when you started it.

That fucking thing starts after 1 or 2 pulls, even after sitting with stall gas in it for months.

Loud as fuck compared to a Honda, but it loves to work.

Build thread.

And you are aware of the aftermarket support for those engines, arent you?

If some is good, more is better!
And too much is just about right!

@banditman - to echo a question from the last page, does your setup have reverse?  It seems that any ad I see for a Predator-swapped golf cart says "no reverse".

Yes it has reverse. That function is in the rear axle gear drive assembly. Has nothing to do with the engine.

Mine is a 2001 EZGO. if you go EZGO make sure it is a 2001 1/2 or newer. Mine is a 2001 and
the design change makes it much harder to get parts to work with the pre 2001.5

Did some more work. Got the seat covers on along with the roof and rear seat frames. It will easily hit 30 mph verified on GPS. I still have some things to do. But it is nice I can drive it around now.

In FL we have a lot of beach towels. It stays under cover as well. I have never been burned on my motorcycle
seats and they have always been black.
