Exactly. It depends on your daily caloric requirements. Want to lose weight? Eat fewer calories that you burn. Want to gain? Eat more than you burn. Yes, there are good and bad calories, but the formula for losing/gaining weight is simple — discipline is the hard part. You can lose 10lbs of lean muscle and gain 10lbs of pure fat with diet and exercise and vice versa.

Our serving sizes are way too big.

I’ve been forced to eat less and less frequently due to high blood sugars.

Your stomach shrinks, and you get full quickly.

If I ate all I really wanted I’d weigh more than 300 pounds.

I’m 5’10’ 280 and not fat!!!!!!11!!  

Look at all the dudes saying they require 4000+ calories a day.  I didn’t eat that much when I was a construction worker pouring concrete every day.  6’ even and about 190.

There are pro weightlifters not eating that much.  But GD needs it (mostly in the form of hamburgers and fries ??).

I lose weight at 1500 or less cal/day, regardless of what kind of calories they are.

I maintain weight between 1700-2k (depending on how much I workout/etc).

I gain over that.

I'd have to eat 9 of those "perfectly proportioned" meals to maintain.

I agree americans can eat too much but whatever the fuck you want to call that is "sandwich" is bullshit. Fat is your friend, you are eating low carb and low fat? Do you like being hungry?

How bout you actually eat a good satisfying meal and stop eating all fucking day. I get your portion point and I will share a 12 oz steak with my wife or eat just a chicken thigh and whatever side and it doesn't look like a lot compared to the typical american thanksgiving for every meal portions like you'll see in a restaurant but that photo is just bullshit. Get some fat and salt at least.

I'm 6'4", 245 and I would fall out unless I ate a constant stream of those "servings" all day.  Especially today.

Walked a good bit fetching my cars while loading up in Houston this morning, drove to Bryan and unloaded one sold TRD Camry, drove to Waco, unloaded the rest of the truck, then drove to Alliance railhead near Fort Worth and walked all over creation for to load a Subaru/Lexus run back to Houston.  12 hours- load, unload, reload.  And driving.

Temp was 80 first thing this morning and 90 this afternoon.  I changed shirts twice.

Fuck that 200 calorie nibble.

I had one (1) egg, two (2) 1.25 oz sausage patties and a cup of coffee for breakfast.

I’m clearing 100 ft of treeline and mowing 2 acres of yard this morning, and I’ll be fine till lunch.  I’ll do my upper body workout this afternoon - lunch will be a salad and ~ 4 oz of grilled chicken breast.  

See, I’m not a fatass that requires 4000 calories a day to fuel my corpulent carcass.
