I was born and raised on a farm. If a pig or cow was unhealthy...we shot it
If a dog or cat was unhealthy...we shot it If a chicken was unhealthy...we shot it... This was all considered ethical in order to reduce suffering.... |

Like it or not, shooting an animal in the head with a rifle is about as humane of a killing there is.
|
|
Well to be fair PETA kills most of their animals too, but they dont care so much about silly nuances like healthy or unhealthy.

My dog deserves to pass peacefully in my arms, nobody is shooting him

If so much as one PETAtard posts in this thread, i'm going to kill something today in his/her honor.

I didn't grow up on one but lived on a farm a few years.

Dog Worship will be in to correct OP shortly. Killing a puppy is bad. But killing a human unborn baby ..... no problem. |

My open letter to PETA folks here
Fuck you. I'm going to eat some bacon. |

I live on a farm. I’ve shot animals suffering but I usually make an attempt to get them better.

the use of a firearm is still a viable veterinary technique that is still in the manuals, i think there are even pictures and diagrams of bullet trajectory in into the brain.

Luckily, it was the Saturday just before the Holiday and my vet offered to come by after I gathered my adult kids up to see her one last time. She passed peacefully under the tree. Funny, that’s exactly how she was brought into my family, precisely 13 years to the day. She had been a Christmas present for all of our kids. Attached File |

I saw a skunk yesterday morning. It was suffering, so I shot it dead. That's ok isn't it?

Kinda curious how many folks have ever sat in on a cat declawing procedure?
I still would have it done in a heartbeat if I was going to keep a cat in the house. |

I'm not sure about true PETA members. But we have a shit ton of Sea Shepherd hippies here. Go read a thread about the perfectly sustainable breed of whales being harvested, and you'll see all the feels pouring out of their vaginas like a waterfall of patchouli-laced estrogen. It's always entertaining.

They actually killed them in the van that they had driven to pick them up from the shelters, and then went straight to dumpsters in the area to dispose of the carcasses. https://www.consumerfreedom.com/2005/06/2833-peta-kills-animals-and-its-a-felony/ |

Shooting a pet would be only in extreme circumstance like it been hit by a car and dying painfully, slowly.
I'd rather not have my last memory of a dog being with eye half popped out, blood running out it's mouth, legs involuntairly twitching, after being shot in the head. If I can get a vet to give the dog a needle, and that's not easy on me, but the last image I'll have of the dog is much more tolerable. I've never executed my own dog and hope I never have to. |

If not thinking that dogs and cats are simply chattel, that they should not be abused, thrown away on a whim, or be shot on sight simply because they may be running loose makes me a PETA person, then yes, I guess I am a PETA person. I also hunt and eat meat, but hey this GD where absolutism and broad brushes reign supreme so it probably won't matter.
|
|
If you want PETA level idiots out of the woodwork....you have to start a thread about someone's dog running wild on your land and eating your chickens....then ask if you should shoot it if you see it doing the same thing again.
Also, yes, we shoot any suffering animal that has little/no chance of getting better. I couldn't give any less fucks what anyone else has to say about it. |
