Where is our resident U2 pilot. Let's strap a GAU-8 to his plane and let him have fun.

We have no weapon to shoot it with.

Hack it so it only sends the CCP the contents of Hunter's laptop over and over.

Quoted: Reminds me of Japan sending over balloons in wwii https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fu-Go_balloon_bomb View Quote Back in the 80's, I knew an old guy who was on a USFS crew that recovered one of those balloons in NW MT. What the Japanese didn't realize was.... hundreds of thousands (or even millions) of acres burn every year in the western US, whether there's a war or not. |

Shooting it down is stupid. We need to capture it intact to exploit it thoroughly. That means sending up another balloon with a manned capsule in order to hook on it for a controlled decent.

Quoted: This is actually infuriating. Over an area that is lightly populated, we could easily damage/deflate the balloon portion and it would drogue chute to the ground effectively slowing the payload to the point that even if it did hit something it wouldn’t be THAT bad. Why the fuck isn’t our country immediately acting as if this is a hostile event (which it is)? This will only embolden the world as they see how big of a pussy the USA is. Legalities of shooting it down? This is unprecedented and most likely no laws covering action against it by civilians. Hell, If a normal joe or group of joes were to take it down, they’d make history. View Quote Parody post? Don't all 2020 members know that our govt and military are in Chinese pockets? This is effectively china airspace if the puppetmasters say it is. |

Ceiling for a C-17 is 45,000 feet.
2X Delta operators, O2 masks, parachutes, and 2X MK-48's. Jump, as they freefall past the balloon, empty the SAWS into it. At the right altitude, open chutes. Profit ! |

Quoted: Worried about a balloon? How about the Chinese students in US universities taking STEM classes? Or working in defense research? View Quote I think you meant "how about all of the Chinese nationals that have tenure in American university engineering, biology, and medical departments? Heading up hiring committees? Or about to shift into dept Chair, college Dean, and college Provost positions as actual Americans retire?" Because guess what: that's the current state for reals |

Unfortunately it should have been shot down the very instant it was a couple hundred miles away or so and still projected to pass over the continental US.
Any data collected has already been sent back. To fucking late dick wads. Interesting first strike nuclear Trojan horse there as it drifts towards the east. Weak ass US government will sit around wondering if it is gender neutral until the boom ! |

Maybe we should ask the Israeli's about what to do.. They have a competent military.

Curious if it's emitting any transmissions Montana nerdy types could capture and take a peek at. Unless it's doing some cryptic satellite uplink (which why not just use a satellite in the first place), it's emitting RF. SDR's and such can receive that data.

The jet I fly has a 51,000 foot ceiling. We take it to 47k occasionally but it takes all afternoon to get to 47 from our normal 45. We’d have to be out of gas to get to 51. Then there’s the problem of having a means of shooting it down. I recommend the paramotor guys. Maybe the Cajun Navy can start an air wing.

I would imagine its carrying drones. Would explain the sightings over Guam with spotlight equipped drones. This balloon could drop drones and act like a relay back to china or a sat as the drones gather data. Then said drone crashes into lake or somewhere else hard to get to .Or maybe someone picks them up. The Army has explored the same concept recently . Would really entend the range of a diesel powered drone. The chinese have somw agriculture drones with impressive payload and range

Quoted: The location of our land based nuke silos is most likely already well known by chinese military intel. Just like we know where all of theirs are, and where all of russia's are. being fixed, their location is easy to spot. Hell, you can use google earth and find them. This motherfucker should have been shot down when it first his US airspace near the Aleutians.
Send a high altitude jet up and shoot it down already. |
