This, even though its not the fastest,  it is iconic, and was/is still the car of my dreams.

@DamascusKnifemaker, a guy up the road from me has an AMX in that color.  I've been meaning to stop and take a look at it.  He has three or four others in various stages of disrepair that he is working on, as well as a couple of Camaros, etc...

Mine was a 61 Impala Convertible.

My dad had a 61 Bel Air 2 door.  I liked the way it looked.  One day I was riding my bike down the street on Laughlin AFB, TX and saw a red 61 Impala with the dual antennas, and cragar mags. coming down the road and man was that a beautiful car.

Same as it is today...either a chopped & channeled 32 Ford with a worked over flathead in it, or a 57 Chevy 2 door hardtop painted Turquoise blue with a supercharged monster in front, slightly tubbed rear, and of course...flames painted on the front

911….  Particularly a 930 turbo, but any 964 is sexy as hell.  However I can’t afford an older 911 so I had to settle on a new one.

I was 16 in about 1988. And the funny thing is, my dream car was something like a 69 mustang that you could get for about 1000 bucks back then lol. Dream cars were actually affordable. Now my dream car is a new Corvette which is infinitely out of my budget lol.... And I have a pretty damn good job.

72 cutlass 442 and 68 firebird 400.
Had both before I was 18 because I dropped out of high school got my GED and went straight to work as a drywall finisher at 16 to help the old man. Made metric shit tons of cash and lived at home with nearly no bills at all. I had some bought and sold nearly 20 cars and trucks before I was 24 (when I got married), and my wife put a stop order on my car obsession. At 48 I'm still obsessed I guess with a 72 mach 1 in the garage waiting to be started on for my son and a nearly finished 79 camaro in my shop.

When I was 16 I would have been happier with a 500 dollar car and a 20,000 dollar gun collection than the other way around.

I was very happy with my parents’ Tahoe and still would be today.

Should have bought that damn thing from my folks when they sold it, I could have afforded it at the time.

There were so many. I don’t know how you all can pick just one. If I had to narrow it down to one thing it wasn’t so much the car as it was this…

Prancing Stallion with 3rd pedal, ball knob, gated shifter, targa roof, painted Rosso Corsa, but mainly the ball knob and gated shifter.

For me it’s always been the details that combine to make it desirable and it’s usually the things other people overlook.

I started with a 308, but wound up preferring this one. The last of the V8s developed under Enzo. If you don’t know how to drive, it will get away from you.

ETA: The cars from back when I was 16 have been bested by modern products in almost every way. However, the new ones will never be untouchable icons of motoring magic again. I like to make my 16 year old self happy too.

I bought that same car at 19 too. And yes it was a financial undertaking and a half at that age. But holy hell did I scare the shit out of my passengers every chance I got. Lmfao

Now I just want a supra.
