You sat on the edge of the bed, didn’t ya?
You took off your shoes, put your finger between your toes and picked your feet didn’t ya!?

One I really enjoyed was THE PACKAGE. probably because it came out the year after I came home from Germany.

Unforgiven with French Connection a close second.

The problem with Hackman is that he’s been in eleventy-thousand movies. He’s brilliant in some, and totally mails it in for others.

Consistently getting work for this long, however, is quite an achievement.

Saw that recently.  Decent flick.  Not the best movie I ever saw, but good.  Hackman was good as always.

The Conversation.  Or, The French Connection.  Flip a coin.

Gene Hackman is probably the last American male actor Modern-Hollywood will ever produce, sadly.  He's had a very good run.........

Glad to see some appreciation for Uncommon Valor---last thread I saw on it had a lot of people saying is it sucked.

Let me guess--The scene where he kind of wakes up from a dream?

I think The Unforgiven WAS his best character.  A villain posing as a hero.

Good acting, but I just wanted to punch Denzel Washington's character in the throat for half the movie.  I don't think that was supposed to be the way they wanted the audience to feel.

He was absolutely a scene stealer in Get Shorty, great in Bat 21 and Mississippi Burning, but I think one of his finest performances was in Heist. Mamet knew how to bring out the best in him, IMHO.
