Quoted: https://cloudfront-us-east-1.images.arcpublishing.com/octane/PGUEK5NFKJ7QMFMF3NHINHPBZM.jpg Ever wanted to own a modern V4 two-stroke like the ones Kevin Schwantz, Wayne Rainey, Eddie Lawson, Mick Doohan, et al, raced during the "glory years" of Grand Prix motorcycle racing back in the '80s and '90s? Well, thanks to a partnership between Swiss race engineering company Suter Industries (founded by former GP racer Eskil Suter, supplying various components to MotoGP teams and manufacturer of the popular Suter chassis used in Moto2) and Arch Motorcycles LLC, the American performance cruiser company co-founded by custom bike builder Gard Hollinger and actor Keanu Reeves, you can have your very own Suter MMX 500a 195-hp, 280-pound track-only beast that is sure to get your heart racing much quicker than any production four-stroke machine. Think about that for a minute: 280 pounds is 66 pounds less than the minimum weight for a MotoGP bike. The Suter's power-to-weight ratio is basically the same as the 500cc Grand Prix bikes of the '80s and '90s; it's equivalent to your average Yamaha R1 putting out around 300 horsepower, or your average Hayabusa cranking out 400 horsepower in stock form. There's a reason why only a handful of racers through those two decades were able to master the art of ride a 500GP two-stroke at race-winning speeds. And why so many riders have the physical scars to prove how difficult they were to ride. View Quote Least attribute Kent, guy could use the exposure. |

maybe its because i've never been a "motorcycle guy" but the difference in similar vintage sport bikes just aren't too big. if you took the branding off, i couldn't tell you the difference between ducati, honda, kawasaki, etc.
As far as what motorcycles i think look best i've always like the looks of the vintage Cafe Racer era. |

Alright I have been trolling the thread with the ugliest bikes I could come up with. So here is some of the best looking…with a twist.
I nominate this KLR for the adventures it took me on. Attached File And this DR for the adventures it will be taking me on. Attached File It’s hard for me to say what the best looking bike is. I like quirky bikes and I like old bikes. So an old knucklehead is beautiful to me. So is an XLCR. Of course the classic Triumphs, BSAs, and Norton’s. Stretched and raked skinny choppers, you bet. BMW R75, yup. Even a few sport bikes. I am going to have to stick with the best looking bike being the one that is covered in dust in dirt from days of riding. Perhaps there are a few areas being attended to that involve duct tape and zip ties. Maybe there is a dent or a gouge from being dropped. I guess I think the best looking bikes are the ones with stories to tell. |

I have never been on a motorcycle in my life. But I remember as a kid, seeing early 90s Kawasaki Ninjas in magazines, and thinking they were the coolest thing ever. I vowed to have one some day, but then I realized I am scared of motorcycles, and that dream petered out.....

Reliability of the DR. Lack of a good fuel capacity solution on the 701/690. Lack of a rear subframe of the 690/701. I am not doubting their performance but there you have it. I don’t need a high performing dual sport, I need a rugged and reliable adv bike. Also if I stripped my bikes racks and etc it would likely weigh in around 340. Now my GSA probably weighs in at 3,487 pounds. |
