The problem wasn't that people didn't want Newsom, the problem was that they didn't want a Republican. If they had another decent D option they would have recalled him.

The D have it 2:1 in California and even then the GOP turnout he recall was worse than 2018 by a significant margin. Anyone really believing this is fraud is naive. The D doesn't need fraud in California, it's been lost for decades.

If you're conservative, GTFO of California

I was an election observer last night in my county here in the SF Bay Area.

What I saw that was notable was:

1. All the workers appeared to be a cross section of intersectional people with man buns and purple hair.  These are people who looked like they aligned Left.  I could go further into their descriptions, but it was obvious to us that all the workers in our county government elections office are leftists.  These are people who have grown up in government.  They are entrenched deeply into the dental plans there.

2. The only observers there were for the Recall Yes side.   The Left didn't even organize observers.

3. The entire election counting system was Dominion.  Our escort circled his arms pointing around the room to tell us proudly that everything in the room is Dominion.

4. The vote counting started 3 weeks prior.

5. 54% of all ballots required adjudication.  The adjudication stations had two monitors for two people to review each ballot and agree to the "voters intent."  There were about 10 stations set-up, so 20 workers would cover a shift.

6. Stacks and stacks of ballots where after twice checking the signatures didn't match those on file and are required to get a letter/mailed reply from the person to prove that it was their ballet.  These ballot envelopes were not opened.

What would need change:

1. Young conservatives would need to want to be a part of local government for their careers.  They would have to break into and fundamentally change the makeup of who wants to work in local government.  An alternate would be those who are retired might have the chance to work temporary jobs in the election offices.  This involves the chain of ballot integrity and all the workers who touch ballots.

2. The people doing the adjudication would need to have some party representation to ensure the observations were accurate.   We have to get the leftists out of these positions of deciding "voter intent".

3. I think the current system is too far gone now.  Way too many leftists work in the system.  It would take a generation more to change it if we started now.  But who would be left here 20 years?  They conservative movement in the metro areas of CA is under a lot of pressure to make our lives too difficult to keep living here.

Do you think the population number is static? I'm a 4th generation Californian. Califonia didn't just suddenly turn hard left. Something is driving it. I drove to CA from Nevada last month and was surprised that CA had looser CV19 restrictions than NV.   I was like WTF.   No masks required indoors in the state of CA if you're vaccinated.

Everyone had mentioned that it was because of the recall.

These people in power don't care about us.

54% adjudication rate?  Holy crap. How can those machines be that unreliable and still be in use?

Was there some issue with the ballot that made it unable to correctly read most of them or something?

Yep you read that correctly.  We were surprised, too.  They said that any stray marks, blank ballots, double marks will cause them to adjudicate.

But who adjudicates the adjudicators?!?

I left around 2003 because the CA government made it too expensive for my parent company to continue to profit in the San Diego environment.  At the first opportunity, they closed the doors and moved everything.

I avoided relocation and took the substantial severance pay and got the fuck out.  We left friends and family behind, but are used to the drive from AZ to CA and probably see our acquaintances just as much and sometimes more than when we lived there.

Staying in CA meant a longer commute, heavy traffic, and even with moving into a new mortgage at almost double the buy in to outrun the ghetto, we would still be in an area where the government added more taxes and took more rights away, almost monthly.  The demographic overwhelming the area I lived in was very apparent.  Racist as it may seem, this demographic brought theft, drugs, and human trafficking right into the neighborhood.  An illegal safe house was busted and cleaned out less than a block from my shack, it was as real as it gets.

With all planned properly, this was fairly stress free and didn't involve any hardship.

If you say you can't move, you are simply too scared or unwilling to give it a shot. I remember they all said, "don't give up, just stay and fix it".  There is no fixing it.

Since then most people I know have moved to Tennessee and Georgia, with others still working their plans to get out.  The tempo changed substantially, right after the presidential election was stolen.

If the Bay Area and greater LA area, with some adjacent cities and smaller regions, were to be cleaved off, California would be a much better place and would lean strongly Republican.  If mechanisms were instituted to make the government less population-centric/majoritarian, it would be solidly Republican.

Breaking up California in such a manner would be a godsend.  Walling off those areas would be better and easier.

ETA: the graph is a little messed up. Its by decade.

Regan's amnesty. It may have been going that way before, I dont know either way, but that was the log that broke the camels back, and turned California into a hard one party state.
In the mid 90's, Californians voted and passed prop 187 which denied illegals everything except emergency medical care.
No welfare, schooling for their kids, follow up medical, section 8 housing, everything.
Courts slapped it down about 2 days after it passed. Court said immigration was the responsibility of the federal government, not the state. Not only were we forced to provide all those services, the state had to pay for them! THATS what opened the floodgates.
Reagans amnesty had a start and finish dates with certain criteria to get in. Everyone forgets it was the democrats that reneged on their part of the deal that allowed continued illegal immigration.

Funny how Californians blame everyone but Californians.

They have Stockholm syndrome.
