Darksaber Questions:

1. Do we know specifically how Moff Gideon got it from Bo-Katan?

2. Din Djarin was defeated by the mech creature and Din Djarin lost the Darksaber to it (technically it was lying on the ground)  Then Bo-Katan defeated the mech creature.  Wouldn't that mean it was her's now?  Or does it not count because the mech creature never "took possession"?

At its heart this was a Bo Katan episode.  I liked even though she had the helmet still on I knew the expression she had on her face.

Why isn't Ahsoka the rightful ruler of Mandalore she beat Maul who ended back up with it in Rebels when Sabine got it and gave it to Bo Katan...

Kind of seems like it needs to be a called challenge.

2. I'm not sure these "rules of possession" apply to non-Mandalorians. Assuming they did, one would be hard-pressed to say that the creature won it "by combat." It was more of an ambush/ trap. Bo returned it to Mando- safe to assume she thought about it before doing so.

I believe you are correct. Maul retains the darksaber until it is recovered on Dathomir by Sabine Wren. She is trained by Kanan Jarrus where like Din, struggles with the weight of the blade (although she masters it faster than Din). She later hands it over to Bo Katan.

I know. It was lame. I wanted R2D2 but R5 is what they had left. He was my Astromech. Now he’s getting his redemption after all this time.

Only Lucas could have the cojones to put out an action figure based on such a shit droid.

They vary depending on the show.  Kenobi had a nerf bat.  The Darksaber sliced up that mech very easily.

How's that?

So far, we have only seen it in the hands of people not really trained in its use. No Jedi, no Sith. It's like a Single Action Army in the hands of a skeet shooter.

There's also talk of it having some sentience - meaning it judges its user and becomes easier or more difficult to use.

Nerf bat?

Do you guys remember the Nerf swords??  The guard was round and had four targets that would flip down if hit. I guess the intention was for fencing but duals typically looked like to five year olds swinging broadswords around. LMAO

The dark saber is more powerful.

Notice that when Din squared off with Ahsoka, her lightsabers basically bounced off his beskar with no effect.

But when he dueled with Moff Gideon, the dark saber actually managed to heat up the beskar to the point that it glowed red.

Two things I like I about the Maul vs Pre Vizsla fight:
1) Maul didn't use the force. Maybe there was some nuanced "the force guides my lightsaber" stuff, but he could have easily force choked Vizsla or levitated him out of the window or beheaded him with a floating lightsaber or some other creative death. Maul knew that type of win wouldn't win over the other mandos, so he had to beat Vizsla on skill alone.
2) Pre Vizsla didn't go down like a little bitch. He gave Maul a run for his money and when he was beaten, he accepted his fate.

In my opinion, Bo didn't claim the Darksaber because it wasn't considered an honorable combat win. She just picked it up off the ground and didn't defeat anyone for it. The cyborg didn't even use it.

The Darksaber's story is important to Mandalorians. "I picked it up off the ground when Djarin was incapacitated by a cyborg." is not a good story to have to retell for the future.

Both had time to practice its use, Vizsla in particular. It had been in his family for generations, hence his skill with it not just again Maul but also Kenobi.

Din has only recently acquired it, and clearly has used it very little since then.

His point was Maul didn't make any obvious use of the force to tip the fight in his favor, as this would have likely been seen as dishonorable by the Mandalorians he sought to control.

He beat Vizsla in a fight that seemed on the surface in favor of Vizsla as he had his armor and various gadgets available to him whereas Maul used only his lightsaber.
