The thing with Sabine being stabbed was supposed to fool us into thinking she was going to die.
I don’t think anyone fell for it. Lol |

I liked the show other than a few things. I honestly think is older people are not the target audience at all. They want the younger generations to get hooked so they can make money forever off the brand. Ashoka will eventually have to meet the end. Sabine and Ezra can carry them for a while but they will have children who meet up with characters like Omega, Hera’s green haired offspring etc. |

From the beginning, Star Wars relied heavily upon the Japanese Samurai for visual and storytelling cues. e.g. The sword fighting suggests a Katana not a Fencing Foil (2 hands vs one)
With Disney's efforts to curry favor with the Chinese, one would think they would try to dial it back, but they actually doubled down with Ashoka. Her two swords of differing lengths are an obvious reference to the Samurai. The octopus tentacles on her head not-so-subtly mimics a Samurai's helmet. When Wren knelt down to cut off her hair, I honestly thought she was about to plunge the blade into her abdomen. I wasn't sure where that scene was going. |

I try not to play pedantry but that made me wonder if he was talking about Rogue One or something. I think we're stumbling into an era when the difference between a "TV series" and a "movie" (especially one presented as what used to be called a "mini-series") has blurred into irrelevance. These stories aren't as much told in "episodes" as they are "chapters," like some novels would be released back in the day. Frankly, the old "let's tell this story in less than 2.5 hours" is seeming more and more like an undesirable and arbitrary constraint. And audiences are OK with this, even in theaters - as we've seen with both Dune and the latest Mission Impossible movie. Andor was a cohesive story with over 8 hours of runtime, and I think that's much of what contributes to its quality. This is in contrast to, say, The Book of Boba Fett which very much had an "episodic" TV show feel. |

RD is playing Ahsoka as one would expect to find her given the pure physical, spiritual and emotional trauma she has endured. From acting rash and against orders (and having nearly all the clones under her command slaughtered because of it) as a young padiwan, to the betrayal of the Jedi Council and leaving the Order, to living through Order 66 and the further betrayal of all those clones she led in battle, killing a huge number of them in her escape, to the final emotional insult of realizing leaving the Jedi Order most likely directly contributed to the creation of the galaxy's most vicious and evil face....one does not simply remain happy go lucky with those experiences.
Im enjoying Ahsoka so far. Yes, it is not perfect. But its tone is serious although not as dark as Andor. Perfect for a mature SWs story. |

Thats just her subpar skills as an actress and us putting those ideals on top of it to make up for the deficit. Shes not playing an emotionally traumatized former jedi; shes just not a very good actress. She had some name recognition and was cheap and available enough that they cast her in the role. A better actress that was also a fan, or at least someone who became a fan while watching and really studying all the episodes of clone wars and rebels would have a much better and more believable take on the character. enough reality, back to the fun stuff. I don't think Ashoka could have stopped Anakin from turning if she had have still been there. He kept stuff from her, like padme, and didn't really tell her his full private thoughts on life, the order, the force, etc. I think he kept her at arms length just enough that I couldn't buy the idea of her being able to help ground him to the light side or even intervene in the final moments. |

This is my understanding and thoughts on Ashoka being able to prevent Anakin from going ape shit.
Anakin turned to the dark side because he had the visions of his friends, mainly Padme, dying. He thought by doing so he could learn how to bring back the dead. Ashoka was not even a factor in his thinking other than she further exposed him to the flaws of the Jedi order. Making Sidius’ grasp on him that much stronger. Order 66 and the Jedi purge was going to happen with or without Anakin’s turn. Those things were set in motion long before Sidius got his hooks into him. Ashoka could not have stopped it. If she would have stayed she and Anakin would have died in the purge or been exiled like the rest of the Jedi who survived. This is what’s bad about prequels. We already know the end of the story. That’s just my thoughts on it. |

They just keep boxing themselves into a corner instead of just telling stories outside/unconnected the main cannon. These plots just fail to actually line up with what we know in the movie series or downright contradict what we know from the movies. |

The prequels fucked up a lot too. There was a whole solid world built by then in the EU and the prequels just flipped the table over.
As for Ahsoka, she had a part to play with Anakin turning to the dark side. The order fucked her over royally and that further made Anakin distrustful of the order. |

Clone wars was not bad until it was. They should have stopped when they got to order 66 somehow. Not just kept it going with Rebels. Not that I didn’t enjoy Rebels or clone wars. They both should have just had a proper ending. Clone wars was easy. They could have just taken it to the purge/order66 and stopped. Rebels could have gone on for a long time and ended with a new hope’ish time line. Kenobi should have never been done at all. |
