I didn't say her style is bad, it's just not always the right fit for the material. The one thing I liked about the episode is how Jack Black doesn't talk like every other Star Wars character. He talked like a person instead of it sounding very rehearsed and carefully delivered. |

As a result, I have zero issue with Bo Katan's ascendancy this season (although obtaining the Dark Saber via technicality was ham handed). Its a logical continuation of Filoni's storyline in Clone Wars. And fits with Jin....a Mandalorian by belief vice blood...who much better fits as an independent warrior/advisory to the throne than the true leader. This isn't woke Disney at play. This is a logical continuation of the original story of Mandalore. I tend to agree. There's nothing in this series that suggests Din should become the next Mand'alor. Nearly his entire arc has been about becoming a "Clan of Two," and his relationship with Grogu. He accidented his way into the Darksaber. He shuns Mandalorians who don't follow his particular cult. He knows nothing about Mandalorian culture outside his cult. He has expressed no interest or aptitude for large scale leadership. I find it interesting the spectrum in this thread, where some think it should go back to a lone cowboy going on adventures, and some who want him to become President of an entire planet and culture. |

IIRC, Harrison Ford just knew the first movie was going to flop because his experience told him it was hot garbage. He did? I just recall Mark Hamill telling the story about how he was concerned about a minor continuity error involving his hair and Ford telling him "hey kid, it ain't that kind of movie. If people are looking at your hair, we're all in big trouble." |

It was like I was watching a fucking D&D adventure I took part in back in jr high in the mid-80's. And that fight at the end? So the one guy can pull a knife, launch a fucking rocket, and shoot at Bo Katan with a flamethrower??? But she won't pull a blaster and just shoot him in the fucking face? So dumb. You can write the best material in the world and it can still be screwed up by the wrong director. Bryce Dallas Howard has her style and it was wrong for that episode. If Favreau had directed it himself, it would have been totally different. When he directs, the episodes are usually really good. If people are looking at your hair, we're all in big trouble." I've heard a smattering of comments in various documentaries. At one point, after criticism during a take, he said "that's not how people fucking talk, George!" During filming, he seemed to think the whole thing was amateur hour and poorly made and was worried that it was going to hurt his career being in a shit-tier sci-if movie. Which, to his credit, a lot of people had doubts about Star Wars during production. |

Mark Hamill talked about how he was in a theater before A New Hope came out and when a trailer for it came on people were laughing at it. As far as actors themselves go: one of the worst I heard about was Richard Dreyfuss with Jaws. That asshole went around before the film came out and trashed it publicly going so far as to basically disavow it. |
