I just want one to blast trash and maybe shoot 3 Gun.

AR15's are so much better for just about everything else.

I have two pump guns and need an autoloader. I came very close to spending $1500 on a 1301 last year, but instead spent over $2000 on an FNX-45T with RMR and X300U...and a shitload of (~$50 ) magazines.

I'll probably get one next year. It will be ODG. The wife got me to agree not to buy any more guns this year, which I was cool with because I've put night vision off for far too long.

Get you a 20 ga M2, chop that sucker to 12.75”, and satisfy all your tactical, HD, and sporting needs.

Where are you buying the 1301? Online or local stores?

And which one? 1301 Tactical, Pistol Grip, Comp?

I've have lots of trigger time with a M2 Tactical, M4, M1S90, FN SLP Tactical, 930 SPX, 870's, 590A1's, a Versa MAX Tactical, Stoeger M3000, and handled a 1301 but never fired this model.

M2, great gun. But light. Beats me up after 100-150 high brass rounds. 922r

M4, heavy but very manageable after long strings of fire. 922r

M1S90, light, doesn't like low brass, when tuned for LB, recoil from high brass feels like it's beating the gun to death.

FN SLP Tactical, for me it was the perfect balance in weight. Heavy enough for recoil management, but light enough for maneuverability. Kind of like a M2/M4 hybrid. Eats everything. Only gripe is changing pistons for 1oz or less to 1oz or more, but it takes all of 10 seconds.

930SPX, I wish Mossberg would break these in at the factory.
Multiple FTF, FTE, double feeds onto lifter and just felt cheap.
I just couldn't trust one even when running right after all the problems I had.

870, what don't you already know. Reliable pump. We'll see how they turn out with the new Remington Co.

590, my favorite pump. Light, Reliable, tang safely. Oh don't forget some models accept bayonets

Versa MAX is an amazing shotgun. Eats everything, but it's basically a Benelli copy.

Stoeger M3000, shot good. Rear aperture is plastic and was broken when received. It took 100 or so rounds to break-in but was great after that. Like the M1S90 it felt like it was beating itself up with high brass.

1301, handled one but never fired it. Light like an M2, Very nice feature like enlarged bolt handle and release. The texturing on the stock and forearm is very sharp though. I'd have to sand it down if I bought one.

My 0.02

The 2 I ended up with is the SLP and a 590 Shockwave with a brace and ghost ring sights.

Looks like I don't have a picture of my SLP on my phone but like this:

That's a huge amount of lead in a hurry. Inside 20 yd not much would live, even armored.

Yeap, got a few, realistically they are going to be the last gun I ever reach for.

You set for NODs/suppressors etc ?

I think the carrier comp mag tube is a must-have.  Collapsible stock? Meh... But it looks cool.  Shoots fine compared to the fixed stock.  I much prefer the larger charging handle and bolt release.

Yes you need one.  Buy a box of clays throw them  on the ground or berm and shoot they as bad guys.  Walk , run or hide behind obstacles.  Great fun and it teaches you gun control and the proper sighting to hit targets.  And yes you can miss with a shot gun.

Then a couple years later, the cycle repeats.

I have a PVS-14 WP and 2 suppressors, so I can’t say set as I wish I would have done dual tubes and want a few more suppressors.
