Yeah, but most are rarely worn.

Got safety toes for shop days and black and brown chukkas for office. Also a pair of blue/gray shoes but they’re worn once every other week maybe.

Then there’s pumas. One comfy pair that’s falling apart, one replacement that isn’t comfortable, they squish the top of my feet.

Work around the house shoes. Range/snowblowing boots. Boat shoes. Do water shoes count? Only wear them getting in and out of kayak, take em off as soon as I’m floating.

Then there’s a pair or three of shoes that might get worn once a year. When it’s dressier than sneakers but not to dress shoes.

Notice what’s not on the list?  Slippers, sandals, flip flops, or crocs. Because self respecting men don’t wear that crap.

Yup. Not that many in regular rotation. Many are dress shoes or seasonal footwear that don't see regular use year round. Some are spares to shoes I do wear on a regular basis. It's good to have spares for some things

That I've bought?  Hmm.     Five.  Boots, hiking boots/shoes, yard work shoes, casual shoes and some arch support shoes.

My wife has bought my other four pairs.  I wear one pair of what she's bought me.  Can't fix it.  Gave up trying. She's spent enough on shoes for me I don't wear she could have bought me some powder, primers or bullets for reloading.

Hell, I have more then 7 pairs of brand new boots on standby. [I used to get brand new GI boots for free or really cheap]

I still have my Hanwag boots [bought and made in Germany] from the 80's, they don't make them like that anymore.

I made it most of my working career with ~ 3. Now I'm retired and "need" 15. I honestly don't get it.

I have more than seven pair of boots. Let alone all the rest.

Yes but most are trash. Work gives me a pair every year and they are trashed in 8 to 9 months. I need to toss out 5 or six pairs.

But of my main rotation I'll say 7

Work shoes
Backup Work shoes
Flip flops
Hiking boots
Steel toe boots
Cowboy boots
Dress shoes

99% in Work shoes or flip flops it's too fucking hot here to wear shoes out side of Work.

Of course I do.
I only where 2 or 3 regularly, but I have way more than 7.

I probably have 4 pair of Crocs alone.  2 pair of running shoes, 3 pair of slip-on type casuals (grey, black, tan).  A pair of deep snow boots, a pair of hikers, a pair for my motorcycle, plus a few pair of actual formal/semi-formal shoes (black and brown).
