Update 12/5
We have a lot of progress with our T-shirt designs. It's been a wild day of "discussions" about design and color. Those discussions have been lots of yelling at each other, insults, callouts......so, pretty much like any 9vs45 beans/no beans thread in GD. At this point, green is probably out.  Any talk of green shirts brings out something resembling a Trump/Covid thread in GD.  We may be able to have multiple colors for shirts. I will check on that. Here are some of the preliminary designs. You can see the evolution of what we are doing. Much will change, especially the front. We've got a few more ideas that we want to try there before deciding anything. If you want to get in on the fray, go to customink.com and the design lab and draw up a design and share it here. We can use those ideas to make changes.   This design has lots of extras that we did not delete from the design, incase we wanted to move it to the front, or use it somewhere else.   trying out different colors    Where we are at for design right now.....     |

The orange/black really only looks decent on grey or white shirts. And white shirts are "too basic" or something, rare.
That leaves grey. The green really clashes with the orange,. the yellow/black one would fit on more colors but I understandyour affinity for orange/black. I guess the one that is the light grey shade of OD could work, but just on the edge of it, not sure what that color is called. Sage or something? FWIW, custom ink will allow you to offer as many different shirt colors as you want as long as the ink colors remain the same, no extra charge.
Come up with the design and let purchasers chose their base color. |

I'm the odd man out - I like the dark green/orange. Also really like the C-130 on the front with Fire Crew on it, looks very cool.

Update 12/6
We have more additions to the mural going on.  We are working on cleaning up our forest area. Straightening trees, fire, and lights, before we add smoke.  Skinning on the plane is going well. We have had a few misses, but students with experience from past years are helping those who are new to the process.    We are further along on our tail, but we noticed a problem with our leading edge today. It will have to be redone.   We should be able to just replace the foam, and go from there. There was just too much shaving down, without watching for the leading edge line, and depending on the rib tips, which are short.   Bottom of the 1/6th size parachute is making headway.  Our firefighter's hand is getting closer to cleaned up and ready for paint.  The beginnings of our lookout roof is also going well.  We will add shutters once the roof is complete.  Possible front designs? Thoughts?   |

I find myself wearing those shirts way more than the older, thicker material shirts we did in the past.

I have only two suggestions for the shirt.
For a c-130 on the back: Make the tail number 307. Make the nose art a panther's head. Both will be small enough to be seen but unobtrusive. I do like the C130 on the front. |

Update 12/7
More variations to contemplate. Shirt color options......    Adding the flag like we did last year? Opinions? There would need to be adjustment, as it would be black, and I think the trees and C-130 would blend in more than we want. Maybe orange halos around the trees? Students seem to like it, even if it is very similar to last years. Students also changed the slurry graphic a bit. 307 and Panther added to C-130  Possible front artwork ideas.......opinions?

Skinning is going well so far.   That contour gage really helped today! THANK YOU!!!!!   Work on the tail continues......  Our mannequin's hand is now getting a patina....Yes, gold....be patient.   More mural blending in the skies....  Bobcat added back into the display.  Bottom of the parachute is going well....we think.  |

I think we are going to scrap the flag background. My 7th hr crew feels it's too much, and I agree. We also came up with an updated slurry graphic. They also want a different Panther on the nose of the C-130. We like the C-130 facing right, as it will be in our display. We still have lots different opinions on the front graphic. That's going to take more discussion. |
