I don't think guns would have gotten this far if it weren't for fundraisers here. Art stuff is expensive, crazy expensive for what it is in many cases, like colored pencils at $1/ea for midrange quality. Picasso couldn't afford small tube oil paints and used regular household "by the gallon" enamel for most his works, same with Jackson Pollack (though who could tell there) and many others. So Guns is following in their footsteps for decorating. Schools where kids are forced to through metal detectors to listen to teachers that literally hate them, then fighting for life between school days in turf wars don't really have their possible talents exercised in a functional way. Get a lot of kids with ideas and let them work them out and all sorts of stuff will happen. Most ground breaking changes and inventions are thought of by people under 30 years old (also heard under 25 even). Once out of their 20s, people don't want to reach as far and take risks of being wrong. |

Serious Wow action going on here. I've never seen a French Impressionist duck stamp painting before. That is an incredibly good painting. There aren't many budding artists that can make a go of things, but whoever painted that can.

My school district has been very supportive in funding, and allowing me free reign with my program. Arfcom had made an incredible difference in the program overall. No way it would be where it is without all of your help and support through out the last 10yrs. The ideas and donated tools/funds from arfcom have been monumental to the program. |

You're getting very good at smoke effect on the wall!
Cutting circles really sucks, they even make X-acto knives that have a swivel tip and a smaller blade to cut circles easier but I don't know how you'd set the radius or move it. I have a bunch of punches and hole drills, they did very good with the manually cut 2-4" holes down the side of the body, they look perfectly punched. How many times have you had to pull foam and start over on some of these parts? I remember "wing root foam needing fixing" happening 2 or 3 times. Is it just a bunch of blocks glued onto the old blocks and rasped down again? It's looking awesome, though that one bird I'd move a bit further up the branch from the fire, I don't think they are that dumb, but it could just be a perspective thing where it looks like he's sitting 6" from hot coals. Could also have some squirrels and other homeless critters in the area, maybe just one. This is turning out amazing, hopefully it gets Finished this school year yet. |

We needed the final bit of skin applied so we could get a bitter idea of how the contours meet the main fuselage. https://i.imgur.com/qFTeIPL.jpg We are continuing to skin the aft portion of the fuselage. It is going well, and the students have an excellent system going to get everything pretty clean. https://i.imgur.com/NJ94kBP.jpg Our firefighter's neck was repainted. We will probably get him dressed again next week. The oil paint needs a few days to dry. https://i.imgur.com/amDjV9N.jpg His face got it's first coat of gold paint. Only thing I could possibly think of is 2 physical pounds of paint ends up being that much liquid or something. |

That will leave room for up to 2.5 oz of added colors when they custom mix the color at the store. * I am not a Sherwin Williams employee, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express. |
