Update 3/6
Nearing the end of the T-shirt/Sweatshirt fundraiser. 1 day remains. 222 Sold, and $2771.00 Raised so far! That is an all time high for shirts sold! State Basketball will claim a few of my students starting Wednesday, and we have parent/teacher conferences tonight and tomorrow night.  We will try to have the fuselage and wing all painted up for the 8th grade orientation night on the 21st. On to our current progress...... My wife doesn't always give ideas for our projects, as she gets a little tired of hearing about them, time on arfcom, and such.....but! She had a cool idea for this one. Back in 88 when her parents owned our cabin, it came very close to burning in the Canyon Creek Fire, East of Ten Sleep. She has told me about seeing the slurry bombers dropping pink slurry around their cabin and everything being pink, including the cabin itself. Luckily, the fire did not make it to our cabin. She suggested we have our cabin displayed in the project somehow. Cool. So, under the mural of the slurry bomber doing it's thing, I'm having one of my students make a little 3D model relief that will be attached to the wall.  More details are still going into the Chinese spy balloon that will be floating high over the display.  We are trying to get all the rivet and panel lines done on the tail, so we can continue to paint. It may take the rest of today to get those close.  We did get quite far in getting our first coat of paint on the fuselage on Friday. It's showing us where we are going to need a bit more caulking along seams.

Update 3/7 14hrs left on the T-shirt sale. It's been an outstanding success! Thank you all!
I updated the "couples" pictures on pg22. I had another couple yesterday want to make sure they were included on the list. We may take the fuselage off of the stands today so we can work more efficiently on the bottom. This guys was arguing yesteday to do this, and I didn't want to, but he's right.   We are getting closer to the right shape on the thermal pod.  Rivet and panel lines continue on the tail. We are almost ready for paint.  We are also close on the wing root. Few more details and clean up needed.  We are working on getting drive shafts for the propellers, and reworking the exhausts. We need a few more contours to be closer to correct. The motors arrived yesterday too.   Blackwater Creek Memorial mural is going well. You can also see some updated smoke plume color on the right side.  |

Update 3/8
RIVETS!!!!! As we work to try to have an assembled and painted fuselage for the 21st, rivets have become a major focus. Unfortunately for Seniors.......they are having to jump in to manage the enormous task. Several of these Seniors have not experienced this from past years, but there are many who have. I probably shouldn't have been taunting them yesterday while they were doing great work. At one time, they had three drills going....It was pretty impressive.     Now I need to go grab some more nails this morning. We are about out.  After finding a few extra screws in the ribs connecting to the mounting plate that shouldn't have been there  , we got the fuselage off of the mounting plate and laid on it's side so we could do more detailed work on the bottom.   Thermal pod is much closer to the correct shape today.  Blackwater Creek memorial 3D sculpture is looking good.  |

Update 3/9
Rivet lines every where. Unfortuenately, we had to go back today after first paint to clean up the excess hot glue. It's not real noticeable till paint is on.   This young lady was nominated to glue the "rivets" on the entire rest of the plane, as she does a very neat job. Unfortunately for us, there is not enough time for just her to do it.  All these nice clean lines, that aren't so clean with paint on them.   We decided we needed access holes through the roofs of the cowlings to mount the motors.  We also added vents to the sides.    The memorial is going well. He's adding more even as I type this.  |

I know you were wanting the project to be in a more completed state for the display but one could argue it is more interesting to see it partially done as it makes it more straightforward for outsiders to see all the different steps that go into one of your projects.
All the crew deserves a nice relaxing week of vacation, especially your rivet expert.  You can always give them a nice pep talk on the 20th....
