Ok, so the other thread got locked. Serious question: what were the COC violations? I have only posted a few hundred times, so if I make a violation, do I get told about it?

Any way, Foley is a bigt time pervert and the media is probably in cahoots with the democrats. But I guess the lesson is dont be a congressman and hit on boys.

Gerry Studds

Studds is remembered chiefly for his role in the Congressional page sex scandal in 1983, when he and Representative Dan Crane were censured by the House of Representatives for separate sexual relationships with a minor – in Studds's case, a 1973 relationship with a 17-year-old male congressional page.

As the House read their censure of him, Studds turned his back and ignored them. Later, at a press conference with the former page standing beside him, the two stated that what had happened between them was nobody's business but their own.

Seems the dems don't have a problem with this sort of thing.

nor the repubs. he woulda kept on if he wasn't caught. what the dems do don't excuse the repubs.

mini-rant:
for the last 7-8 years i've been on here i've heard honor, respect, honesty, integrity, blah, blah..from EVERYONE HERE in refering to the republican party, but i've seen little of that. when the shtf the defense is demonize the other guys or "hey, they do it too".
 WE CANNOT KEEP DOING THIS!
this party has to stand tall and call our own onto the carpet when it warrants, not just in an election year but every year. what's happened to this party? are we so weak in our principles and convictions that we need excuses and finger-pointing? do we want to condone and coddle crimes and ethical misdeeds? by doing so we only weaken ourselves and give ammo to the other side. there is no defense for this guy. this board dragged mcgreevy through the mud when he came out. what's worse, a homosexual dem having an affair with an adult or a homosexual repub preying on boys? it seems to me the opinion is the repub is better just because he's a repub. c'mon people, WTF!!?? there is no defense for this guy. he's done, get the f*ck out! it's jail time!

I don't recall the McGreevy thread and don't think I had anything to do with it. My comparison is between the Foley and Studds scandals which are as close to an apples to apples comparison as I can find -but with different consequences for both politicians. My point being that democrats get a pass on stuff that neither party should.

'Ourselves'? You're a recurring DU troll; your 'ourselves' is over there, not around here.

No he ain't he is a troll trying to stir shit... his normal SOP is to pop up throw bombs then slither away.

well, i guess the above comments require a reply.

history: i signed on to ar-15 back in late 1998(i think) when it was basically a bbs. how many here remember the logo when it was just a green square with "ar-15.com" in stencil font?

i'm no troll. i've tangled with mcuzi and sided with cavvet and recall all the old-timers. jewbroni, even darkhelmet(who wasn't really old-timer, but whom i think must be in jail because he went from 1,000 posts a day to zero), on and on....

this is the latest name i'm using since the last(and only name) i've ever used was banned for a smart-ass comment. i don't even remember what or why.

regarding my reply to guth: it wasn't a slam on him. my point is whatever stuuds did is not a template for a republican reply or conduct. however, i fully meant to slam crc(a little) about his vigorous blaming of the media re. foley, especially since i've found no proof that abc have held on to the news since 2005. foley had been preying on that kid since 2005. i'll retract and apologize to crc if he or anyone can show me the media had this information since that time and waited until this election year.

to steve, tomislav, amd mad mike: you're free to wonder if i'm a du troll or whatever, but don't judge by post count. a lot of old members here don't post much.

mad mike is right in that i do like to stir up sh!t, but it's not to troll. i'm just hoping to get someone, anyone, to see that the welfare of this country isn't a tit-for-tat, "aha! gotcha" game.

i don't think the repub party is on a good course, or even a right course. i think it's playing a zero-sum game. i'm an immigrant citizen of this country and i think the natively-borned sometimes forget that there is a political renewal every two years in this country. there is no reason why the repub party has to hide and excuse crimes and misdeed by one of its own.

ok, done. i can't type well and this has stiffened my metacarpals. if this thread stays on the top three pages, then i'll reply to whatever someone may say.

That's the way it should be. We are better than they are. We willingly hold ourselves to higher standards. Let the dems keep their half-wits, crooks and perverts. It weakens them. Foley is a pervert and a retard. Good riddance.
