This should do well for the Muricca! crowd that respects the higher end P cars.

I wish it were about 1/2 the cost and 20x the production numbers.

Maybe the concept trickles down to Z06+ levels during the facelift cycle.

ZL1 did a 7:16  The Z06 hasn't posted an official time yet, but the C7 Z did a 7:12 so the expectation is that the C8 will be sub 7.

The 1LE camaros are the performance bargain of the century and they still couldn't sell many. The SS 1LE isn't much slower around a track.   1LE has been around since the 4th Gen at least as a common option and nobody ever really knew about it.   Started out as one of GMs unadvertised RPOs for racers.

Spectators timed a prototype C8 Z06 w/Z07 package at 7:12 in traffic. I’d like to see an official number with a clear track.

The GT4 will likely be produced in numbers similar to the FP350S which full race ready.  Numbers were like 50 a year when offered and around 110-130k.

Think theybused GT350 as homologation for FP350S.

The new Dork Horse is meh.  It is jist a reskinned Mach 1 with the new dual throttle body engine.

I was expecting Ferrari and got...something else.   If I heard it without knowing what it was, flat plane V8 wouldn't have been my first guess.

It's a typical Ford move to do 95% of the work and then dick up some detail like firing order that kills the execution.

The C8 Z06 sounds like a flat plane should.

I couldn't agree more, although I don't think the 1LE designation meant that much in terms of performance in the 4th gens. I'm a big 4th gen guy (owned 2 Z28's and one TA).

The 5th gen ZL1 1LE is on another level.

I'll be surprised if this GTD is more than a few tenths faster honestly. And at 3x the cost thats a loss for Ford when they're chasing after exotics.

The SLP SS cars were essentially the 1LE in the 4th gen I think.  I think most of them carried the RPO if not it was the same parts.  There was the B4C too, which was the police interceptor package, that carried most of the 1LE parts.

1LE started with the 3rd gen, it was really under the radar, you had to be a racer with a dealer connection to even hear about it. That's been a GM thing since the 60s
