I'm going to be honest.
At this point I don't really give a fuck. My long term plan is to disappear into the woods and be left the fuck alone. If mother nature wants to expedite those plans, that's fine. I'll either make it work or me and the family will die trying. So be it. In the meantime, I plan on enjoying the convenience of modern day living. |

There’s a special spacecraft that will carry and deploy a nuclear payload the size of Manhattan to deal with it.

Also from the same article on spaceweather.com:
"Despite its alarmingly speedy growth, the giant sunspot is less scary than it may seem. The flares it will most likely produce are M-class solar flares, which "generally cause brief radio blackouts that affect Earth's polar regions," alongside minor radiation storms, the European Space Agency wrote in a blog post. M-class flares are the most common type of solar flare. Although the sun does occasionally release enormous X-class flares (the strongest category) with the potential to cause high-frequency blackouts on the side of Earth that's exposed to the flare, these flares are observed much less often than smaller solar eruptions." calm your tits. |

I mean... if its on the side of the sun facing earth, isn't it "pointed right at earth" by default just like all the other sunspots we can see?

I’m not gonna lie…an extended power outage would “problem staying solved” a lot of problems in this country without giving the government time to set up an even more expanded tyranny apparatus.

Quoted: https://www.livescience.com/doubling-sunspot-pointed-right-at-earth The sunspot, called AR3038, grew to 2.5 times Earth's size — making the sunspot roughly 19,800 miles, or 31,900 kilometers, in diameter — from Sunday (June 19) to Monday night (June 20), according to Spaceweather.com, a website that tracks news about solar flares, geomagnetic storms and other cosmic weather events. Sunspots are dark patches on the sun's surface where powerful magnetic fields, created by the flow of electric charges from the sun's plasma, knot before suddenly snapping. The resulting release of energy launches bursts of radiation called solar flares and generates explosive jets of solar material called coronal mass ejections (CMEs). View Quote Here's hoping.... |

500 seconds times 186,000 miles per second (speed of light) is 8.3 minutes. The distance travelled in that time is 93 million miles. Radiation from the sun should travel at the same speed as the light, right? |

They should make an announcement tomorrow that RVW is overturned....and the a few hours later the solar flare erupts and knocks out the power grid pretty much entirely. Fun times.
