Never. Not once. At all. Neil Armstrong doesn't even sound remotely like John Glenn so I don't know how they get confused. Chuck Yeager never liked John Glenn,is still far more of a badass,never tried to take anyone's guns nor did he take a quarter million $ he shouldn't have

I have come to know guys that knew John Glenn very well, they're all piles of assholes with God complexes. The willful ignorance and hubris is/was nauseating. But, he also was an anti-Constitution Democrat who hated Republicans. the Emergency Committee for Effective Gun Control was formed, with former astronaut and future Senator John Glenn as chairman. He also was on the wrong side of national security history. He was a leader in the senate on opposition to the deployment of both the Strategic Defense Initiative and the MX missile and cosponsored legislation to halt production of the B-2 Bomber. He also was involved in the "Keating Five Scandal" political corruption episode.
