We are fostering a rescued Boston Terrier starting tonight.

Her name is Dolly and she came from a breeder in Alabama. She'll be 2 on April 4th.

I can not wait to giver her some nose boops and scratches behind the ears!

Way to go! I don’t foster anymore due to having small children in the home. I won’t take a chance with them and an unknown dog. Same with buying shelter dogs. Too big a risk.

Which one(s) do you HAVE to have? Do you need a Technicians before you can get the General? Can you go straight for the general and it covers the Technicians also?

It’s a sequence. You have to have the lower class to get the next class up. But you can take all the tests at the same time.

For those looking to get into that game, I always recommend a trial run with a really big dog first. Then a largish dog with a territorial, sharp temperament. Then, if they can safely train and handle both of those, try something like a Tibetan Mastiff. The TMs are a scaled back version of the CO and CS. Slightly smaller, usually, and not quite as inclined to eat someone’s face off. If they can safely manage and train a series (not a one off, but several) of TMs, and are still interested in one of the Caucasian breeds, they’re probably ready to handle it.

I used HamStudy.org.  It was free.  I also downloaded a practice test app to my phone so I could study in my spare time when I wasn't at home.

Also also, the No Nonsense Study Guide is really good.  It's a PDF file you can buy online.  It gives you all the test answers but also explains why the correct answer is the correct one.

Right about there, yeah. Most people never venture beyond that point. They either screw it all up, or they decide they’ve gone far enough and don’t need to keep going. And really, that’s about where I am. I simply don’t need anything more than that. I could probably handle something more, but I don’t need it, and I don’t want to. I’ve met a few TMs that were really cool, but most of them aren’t anything i’d want to handle on a daily basis. I just don’t need that in my life.

Another aspect people don’t figure on is the grooming. There’s a lot of brushing involved, and most people don’t really put in the time needed to manage the coat. So it gets matted, and you quite simply can’t take them to a groomer. They will not let strangers do invasive, uncomfortable things to them, and they have enough ass to back up their threat.
