I will say I'm a little disappointed he's gone a tad soft on calling out Liberal things Trump does since Trump has started saying nice things about him and calling into his show but, I can't completely fault him as I'm sure even "stars" get starstruck. He still remains one of the best representatives of Conservatism we have in the public eye. I do recall a time when Trump refused to come on his show at all during the primary for fear of being asked hard questions unlike the treatment he knew he'd get on Hannity's, Rush's, or even loony toon Weiner's show.

As I said, they may hold views I don't ascribe to but one thing I do agree on is calling out a lack of Conservatism from Trump when it happens. What their motivations are are up to them. I know what mine are and that's adherence to the Constitution and Conservative principles.

When Trump gave the SotU speech I had no problem going into the last thread and praising him when he said things like how America would never be a Socialist nation but also had no problem criticizing him when in the next breath he's talking about government mandated/funded paid family leave and a trillion dollars in federal infrastructure spending.

Same as I was when GWB was in office. GWB did good things like putting Alito on SCOTUS, proposing privatizing SS (even if he ultimately folded on it, he put the idea out there on a big level), and taking the fight against terrorism to our enemies. GWB also did a lot of bad things like expanding Medicare prescription coverage, the Patriot Act and creating more government in DHS, the barrel ban, soft pedaling illegal immigration, and putting John Roberts on SCOTUS.

Believe me, I want nothing more than Campaign Trump to be a reality, even if Campaign Trump wasn't a 100% Conservative Cruz clone. He was better than the Big Government Republican/GWB-esque Trump we get now. Unfortunately Big Government Trump is what I expected we'd ultimately end up with since his track record of things he'd said in the past and his political history indicated that. I had hoped he would be some sort of Conservative crusader on a white horse that so many here have and continue to paint him as but there's literally nothing to back that up as realistic. Instead we just get more of the status quo, Big Government Republican slow slide instead of the Dem straight in the shitter path but, I guess that's something.
