And have no idea what to do with it.
I won't go into details about why I ended up with it because that part isn't important but it was all completely legal. Kinda like a family member that legally gave you a rifle. It is all well known (and mostly high quality) names of unopened brands though none of it is particularly rare. The thing is, even though I enjoy a little scotch or bourbon here and there, I'd need 2 lifetimes to drink it all. Or possibly a massive party with a bunch of spirited college kids? I have the space to store it but to be honest why would I? I don't have a bar and even if I did I'd have to buy it through a distributor to keep in check with a liquor license so I can't even sell it to a bar owner no matter how pristine it is. I am thinking my best route at this point is to make gifts to my friends from time to time or wait for the apocalypse because I know it will be one of the most tradeable assets there are then. How would you dispense of it? |

Arfcom party in Ohio!
ETA: Wanna trade some for a NIB Ruger LCP? |
|
First off, congrats. I’d personally look for a friend who was more into it than you and sell the collection. I know, if the logistics worked, I’d take it off your hands in a few weeks when I’m in the MW

I'm in pittsburgh and I love that shit. I'll happily throw some cash at you for some of it.

Ohio has a pretty big underground for selling booze. Someone will send you a pm about it I am sure. They used to do it on Facebook before they banned the practice.

My father passed in 2019 and I inherited a lifetime of alcohol from his years of international travel as a salesmen. Apparently boomers drank, smoked, and played cards because I had 100 bottles, 75 ash trays and hundreds of matchbooks, and dozens of NIB playing cards with my father's company logo.
I made gifts of them to my folk's friends. I found that the painter, gardener, and real estate agent took liquor in trade. I ended up ship ![]() |

mmmm, bourbon...so how much to cover plus shipping? I'm down for a few bottles. Please.

If you believe there's going to be a day when you'll need stores of rice, beans and ammo, then you can probably imagine a time when booze would be worthwhile to have.

Dude, we've been friends for a long time. Just the bourbon please.

Barter time OP. That's as good as cash, maybe better in about 6 months.
|

I’d like to know how much two life times is? What ya got and what part of Ohio?

I would store away for bartering during the apocalypse. While growing up my folks had a pretty substantial liquor collection. They rarely drank, not sure where they got so much. Pretty sure they never owned a bar. Anyhow, between my brother and myself we did our best to dispose of large amounts of it by the time we moved out. Haha. Good times

I’ll come pick up the rip van winkle, pappy, Blanton and Weller. Just give me a place and time.

View Quote Kinda what I said but that day isn't today. I certainly don't mind sharing with my arfcom friends and so maybe I'll do some giveaways here. Help me with some ideas? |

Also there are smaller amounts of Rum, Tequila, Gin and Vodka

|
I'm in northeast Ohio by Cleveland. Would gladly buy some bottles off you

|
If you have any Woodford Reserve with the bronze medallion I will buy it from you……..

Pics?
My college roommate came into possession of a bottle of 1980s Jack Daniel's (mid 2010s). We loved the tax label and swear it tasted much better with the higher (42? 44?) % ABV. If I were on the OH side of PA I'd love to buy some off you. I like bottom shelf bourbon. |

I have family in Ohio. Wasn’t planning on heading that way but I can if it would help you out.

If storing poses no problem, I would sit on it. It may come in handy as a barter item later.

Hey buddy ol’ pal.
How’s the family and stuff? Haven’t talked in awhile, I can slide by with my pickup truck and help a guy with stuff. ![]() |
|
Man, just send me the list and I will tell you what you actually have and I won’t even make a play for any…but I do love Islay scotch lol.
|
|
Dude where in Ohio are you? I’m happy to take it off your hands. I’ll make it worth your while too.
Dead serious, shoot me a PM. |

You like magic tricks? I can learn you how to turn all of that into urine.
I'm a Giver. |
