Yeah that's a little different.  It sounds like he's not doing this build in the right order.

Send him a bill for your time, for dealing with this bs.

**THIS IS AN AUTOMATED RESPONSE**

Thank you for being an esteemed and valued customer. Unfortunately, you have used all your free email communication tickets.
Any further emails will incur an additional $10 charge per email, chargeable to the card we have on file.

Larry Potterfield thanks you for your service.

This guy is a total idiot.  You’re better off not doing any work for him because who knows what else he would come back with as a complaint.

It’s been several years since I looked at your website, but I clearly remember seeing that there is a disassembly charge if a complete upper is sent.  It’s very clear.

I'd say you're 100% in the right. That said, miscommunications happen. I'm not saying you should eat it, and he should not be a dick when you clarified your policy. I'd say a good will gesture would go a mile, but these days, taking the high road with random people on the internet never ends well. Life is too short to suffer fools.

Return it and fire him as a customer.

How about “You must send only the barrel & gas block or add dis-assembly fees with order.”

I’ve used Adco. Directions were clear enough. But if my job wasn’t a bright line case I’d have sent an e-mail seeking clarification before assuming made me an ass.

ETA: a yahoo email, lol.

I'd be firing them.  I'm not even remotely customer facing, but fired a customer today that was an asshat to coworkers.

@bigbore I keep meaning to drive over and spend some money in your retail shop, I kinda wanted to buy a gun anyway, just to celebrate the election, etc. Your online inventory shows zero stock on any actual firearms?  Its completely fine if you don't keep a running real time inventory of them, buts its confusing from the website.

I assume the disassmbly/reassemble charge is for having to mount it in a vise, get out tools use anti-seize, torque the barrel nut, provide new crush washer etc.

If all you need to do is spin the barrel nut and muzzle device off by hand, I don't think that really qualifies as "disassembly".

I agree 100% the guy can't read and follow instructions though, but it's not a hill I would die on.

Maybe because both his girls lost.

Seriously there a plenty of idiot/@ssholes out there.  I just bought a suppressor from my local shop because the guy who had them special order it (and another can) did not feel he should have to pay for the $200 tax stamps to transfer them to him.

Good news is I got a CGS Mod 9 for $50 over their cost.

If the owner of a business tells me to do something I'm not going to argue with him if I want to continue doing business with his company.

Really weird.

I think customers need to be fired more often so that it becomes a possibility in their mind when they deal with a business.

No, it comes fully disassembled and sent back that way, or it comes fully assembled, Steve disassembles it for a fee, and it goes back to the customer fully and properly assembled.

This is the correct answer. All or nothing. Not half way taken apart with a caveat.

Is the barrel bedded to the upper where it would take a bunch of work to get off, or will it just pull out like a normal barrel?

if you could pull the gas block off the barrel and the barrel off the upper using just your hands I'd consider it disassembled and I'd consider you the asshole, if that's not the case - then yes he's the asshole.

I’d say that having to take shit apart is worth a minimum hour charge for shop time.

Customer is a prick.

Rub your balls across his upper and barrel, then maybe fart in the return shipping box and tape it up really fast.
