This is cool one from WW2.

The 37mm Spade Mortar. An entrenching tool that doubles as a commando mortar / 40mm grenade launcher precursor.

The Soviets tried to modernize the idea in the 70's-80's, this time using the VOG 25 40mm grande, but nothing seems to have come of it; likely the conclusion was a UGL was more useful.

This. I’d like to blame Marxism but, before that, it was the Royals and Feudalism. Before that was oppression by religious majorities.

Man is inherently evil. A few good people exist in every community and it only takes others like them to suppress man’s evil nature…for a while.

lmao at this totally atrocious installation made by the russians at Chernobaivka airport 😂 They took a wrecked car and placed radar reflectors around, hoping it would attract HARM missiles. It worked so well that a radar standing next to it got completely destroyed ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

A shit hole country littered with trash and junk. Some of the world's most beautiful places sucked dry, polluted beyond imagination, and turned into nuclear waste dumps. They are doing the same to Ukraine and will not stop until wiped off the face of the earth. They lay waste to everything they touch. The plague, even Satan doesn't let in hell.

We laugh, but tactical camouflage is one area that the US mil needs to take much more seriously. That could be as simple as disguising fuel trucks as cargo trucks as in this example, or multi-spectral stuff like the Saab Barracuda system to take that even a step further.

With loitering munitions proliferating, you need every advantage you can to avoid hits, because odds are you WILL get discovered and engaged by something at some point.

Interesting and intelligent point.  Looking LESS lethal has always been a thing, at least since the Trojan Horse, and probably since men hunted with sticks.  But it has new urgency as you pointed out.
