Eta2: wouldn't all the dirt being displaced by the explosion go up and out? I didn't see anything that would direct it in a desirable direction/away from an undesirable direction. So every time you use it you get blasted with frozen/rocky/whatever dirt? Seems fun.

that's not exactly what I was picturing, but it's still pretty hilarious.

Gents, in case you didn't already know, this is what corruption looks like. Somebody somewhere knew what a proper beach obstacle should look like, and they didn't care.

It looks like shit because the extra time and materials saved is now padding some official's "escape fund" to get themselves or their family members the fuck out of Russia. This is precisely what a low trust society looks like at the execution level.

TBH something like this needs to be a part of US standard kit also. E-tools are nowhere near fast enough and there aren't near enough "combat engineering" tools and equipment pushed down to the lowest level.

Yeah, it may be a property accountability nightmare, but so fucking what? Sure beats getting hit by the Hammer of Dead because you didn't have shit else aside from an e-tool, bayonet, and your bare hands to dig in rapidly.

Russian Navy Black Sea Fleet pr. 636 Kilo-Class Submarine (B-268) "Veliky Novgorod" seen at the submarine dock in Sevastopol, Crimea, on 08/02/2023.  The submarine is sitting high in the water exposing a large amount of marine growth on its hull. This will have an impact on the submarine's speed in the water as well as its acoustic signature. It is also not a good sign of the level of maintenance of their fleet.

Ukraine: The Russian Army has indeed started to use ancient T-54/T-55 tanks- one of them was already filmed in Zaporozhzhia Oblast.

A far cry from the army that invaded just over a year ago.

We don't have anything like that because no one but Joe's first line leader is staying up at night wondering if Joe has already lost his e-tool. Those things would be an accountability nightmare.
