That's a fun watch!  Love how that one big building was split in half and each side fell sideways.  Looks like they're still busy at it this morning on the border cam.

There are a lot more Arabs in the US now and they have been buying more and more political power. They have bought their way to immunity after 9/11, where the hijackers were Saudis.  That saudi oil money is driving this more and more.

Yet the US is trying desperately to appease the Iranians.  Playing both sides for graft. The same is happening with Israel, play both dides for profit. So, everyone is dumping money in politician pockets, and our tax money goes to our enemies.

Haaretz:  What Hamas' Meticulous Battle Plan for Kibbutz Nir Oz Looked Like

Documents left behind by Hamas in Kibbutz Nir Oz – a quarter of whose inhabitants were murdered or abducted – shows the high level of intelligence aquired by the terrorist organization. The IDF, which invested billions on technology and physical obstacles, failed to notice

Highpoints:

Hamas was able to collect the information and formulate the operational orders and share it with thousands of its men, without losing the element of surprise. The aerial photographs reveal that the main points of the operational order were even set forth in written form, and included such graphic elements as arrows and reference points; indeed, the precise plans were worked out using digital programs and were sent for printing. All this happened under the nose of the vaunted Unit 8200 and Shin Bet.

One aerial photograph that was found lying on the ground in the kibbutz, accompanied by text and a diagram, delineates the structure of the force that invaded the kibbutz and the division of its areas among the different sub-groups within the force. The operational plan divided Kibbutz Nir Oz into two sectors: northern and southern. On the map, the northern sector was colored green, the southern was shaded in red. A “group” of terrorists was assigned to each sector – the size of the groups is not specified on the document – with each group divided into two teams.

The “mode of invasion” of the kibbutz was elaborated at the bottom of the document: “Group 1 will move via Route 133 as far as Route 299 and will cross over via the fence that is southwest of the kibbutz, where it will split into two teams for a raid on the population from the southwest.” As for “Group 2,” it “will move via Route 133 and then 299, and will split into two teams for a raid on the population from the northwest.” The route numbers here are part of Hamas’ internal code, in the same way that the IDF uses codenames for roads on its maps. The Hamas documents added, “The invasion will take place via the fence of the kibbutz and not by way of the gates opposite the targets, which are the population concentrations.

. “The areas in red,” the text states, refer to places “where it is expected that residents will be at the time the mission is executed.” The authors of the order anticipated that the residents of the kibbutz “will automatically evacuate the regions of the gardens, the farms [apparently referring to the field crops], the factories and all the public areas, should it happen that the time of the mission’s execution coincides with working hours.”

Ten different locations in the kibbutz are marked on the Hamas map. The significance of these markers isn’t entirely clear, though the text at the bottom of the page – “targets in the kibbutz” – may refer to them. The “targets” include “population concentrations, shelters, the security secretariat” and “the gates.”

An examination, with the aid of a kibbutz member, of the places marked on the map reveals that they designate, among other things, a playground, an open space facing the kibbutz dining hall and a bus stop – in other words, what might have been locations of “population concentrations” on a regular weekday. Also marked are the kibbutz’s emergency command center – a target that might correspond to what’s listed as the “security secretariat” – and also a position close to the home of the community’s head of security, Shachar Butler.

Hamas possessed intelligence about the location of the homes of the security chiefs in the different kibbutzim and aimed to strike at them at the start of each the attack.

The material described in this article reveals Hamas to be well-organized, with an intelligence arm that not only collects information but also doesn’t leak what it knows.

Not much different from the incident earlier this week. Hamas claimed Israel conducted an airstrike on a roadway with civilians fleeing. Problem was there was not enough destruction for it to have been an airstrike, and the dead looked to be shot with small arms.

Hamas will absolutely kill their own people, trying to escape, and then make a video blaming the Israelis.

He sounds like BHO, I think that was his argument too. But that ship sailed long ago when the residents of Gaza voted for a government comprised of Hamas terrorists whose entire reason for existence is the elimination of Israel. What's the saying, "elections have consequences"? Well, so does murder, rape and kidnapping.

The Biden administration is at least consistent, they are consistently chickenshit.

The IDF have a few options, it could be a loitering munition.  Could be one of the SPIKE variants of missiles, or Delilah.

My reaction as well.  Israel has done targeted killings from day 1.  They have minimzed civilian casualties and haven't yet seen a reduction in terrorists.

Netanyahu really ought to remind the US about their attitude towards civilian casualties.  Remember this from 1996?

Albright, the first female secretary of state in United States history, made the remarks during a 60 Minutes interview. Correspondent Lesley Stahl discussed with the then-United Nations ambassador how Iraq had been suffering from the sanctions placed on the country following 1991's Gulf War.

"We have heard that half a million [Iraqi] children have died. I mean, that is more children than died in Hiroshima," Stahl said. "And, you know, is the price worth it?"

"I think that is a very hard choice," Albright answered, "but the price, we think, the price is worth it."

I think the number of Iraqi dead due to sanctions was inflated, but Albright didn't mention that at all.  Her position was dead kids were worth the US winning in Iraq.

It is not feasible.  There are links in this thread to manuals dealing with the subject, papers from the Modern War Institute, articles by Israeli geologists working on detecting and destroying tunnels, and interviews with IDF combat engineers in special tunnel warfare units.  While some tunnels might be candidates for flooding, most aren't.  The ones Egypt flooded had openings on the Egyptian side and were in a permissive environment.  They were also basic smuggling tunnels and not sophisticated at all.

Look at the one identified earlier--how are you going to get seawater from the coast to the opening?  Who is going to guard the pumps and the pipeline you would need to get the water to the target?

Getting sea water to the tunnel entrances would be pretty quick and easy.  I used to provide water for well fracs off our pipeline system in ND.  We would partner with other companies to hit wells we didn't hard pipe to.  Typically 10" to 12" lay flat hose can be laid out quickly as they come on spools that are up to 1/8 mile between connections (5 miles is typical and some were up to 30 miles).  The connectors were just big Vband clamps.  With mobile pumps we could flow 3000gpm (enough to flood a football field with a foot of water every 2.5 hours).  This can be done in the dead of winter in ND by keeping the water moving and blowing out the line if the water flow must stop or be shut off.

One spring we had a frac during mud season and a farmer wouldn't let us run equipment / trailers on his land.  We hired a heli crew to pick the hose up and lay it across his field, then walked out and installed the vbands.  We left the hose there till the field dried up and spooled it back up on the reel trailer.

Fixing leaks was pretty quick as well.  Find the leak / tear, cut it, install new ends (they bolt together crimping the hose) and away you go.

ETA: here is one line of frac water hoses (12" @ 200 psig pressure rating): https://www.hosecraftusa.com/uploadedImages/UD4%20Polyurethane%20TPU%20Layflat%20Fracking%20Water%20Hose%20submittal.pdf

How much water do you think you'll need to flood 300 miles of tunnels, tunnels that were designed and built with an eye.to resisting attacks?  How much manpower would you have to dedicate to protect the hardware?

There might be some tunnels.that can be destroyed by flooding, but there is no one-size-fits-all solution.

I am not saying this is the solution to everything, I was addressing the water aspect of your post.  But to humor you, let's assume you had 300miles*5280ft/mile*4ft average width *1ft depth = 6,336,000 cubic feet required to make staying down there suck (we could add mercaptan or something to the water to make things worse).

One football field is 57600 sq ft x 1 ft depth = 57600 cubic feet

6,336,000/57600 = 110 * (the previous 2.5 hours to flood a football field with 1' of water) = 275 hours / 24 hours per day = 11.5 days (with one pump and 12" hose setup).

Now realistically I would probably use 4 setups total on the north and south side of Gaza, add mercaptan and color the liquid and see where it rises to surface via drone observation, etc.

It wouldn't destroy the tunnels, but it would make staying down there unbearable.  If the entry stopped taking water, use a submersible drone to set a charge and "frac" the tunnel to penetrate through internal doors.

Might be easier to bring drilling rigs into the area where tunnels are suspected or confirmed.  Drill down place a charge to hopefully collapse that part of the system.

I suspect nerve agents might be the cheapest most effective weapons to use.  Something persistent like VX is going to have a long period of effectiveness.

The technology has been available for quite a while.   Archaeologists use sonar-like systems to look for underground cavities that could be tombs or other stuff and then drill small holes that allow them to insert cameras and inspect the site before digging.

To make sure it can't be used until the craters are repaired.  Professional job, they could have struck the parked aircraft if they wanted to as well.

Compare with the strike in January this year.  Someone knows exactly what they are doing.

https://www.thedrive.com/the-war-zone/strikes-crater-runways-in-a-puzzling-way-at-syrias-damascus-international

Strikes on and around Damascus International Airport have occurred sporadically for many years now. Oftentimes, they target specific shipments and stockpiles of Iranian weapons being transferred to extremist proxy groups, like Hezbollah, as well as the Syrian government, but they have included larger target sets, as well. Putting Damascus International's southern runway out of commission is an interesting move. More puzzling is why the southern runway would be struck so heavily while the northern runway received just a single hit, and one that would not preclude the runway from use. In essence, the airport is still functional, just at reduced capacity. It's known that Iran's shipment activity usually occurs on the southernmost area of the airport, but just targeting the southern runway would not halt those operations. This is especially true if taxiways connecting the two areas were not severed, which they do not appear to be in low-resolution imagery. Still, operations could be executed in another area of the airport even if they were.

It has been more than established by now that YouTube (Google) and its likes only want the "history" they approve to be known.  Anything else should not even exist, in the best authoritarian style that they follow.

It also shows that millions upon millions of dollars were spent on these tunnels while tens of thousands of Palestinians remained in refugee camps.

In the second part, you can see how the IDF is destroying all tunnel entrances and ventilation shafts thereby trapping/burying the terrorists in them. This prevents them from the inherent risks of using "Tunnel Rats" (specialized soldiers trained to clear tunnels) to clear them except in extreme circumstances (i.e., high value targets).

If the SCADA control is interconnected with others in the tunnel system, the Israelis should be able to do very interesting things by taping into it and hacking it.

It was part of an illumination shell that keeps going after the flare is deployed.
