Mission Capable Parts. Meaning we will directly impact the counties ability to defend itself if we do not get these parts to them. All other stuff goes to the wayside and all reasonable manpower goes to delivering these units. I don’t know how they supply the actual carriers but I was personally told shift production over to carrier variant fighter parts.

Israel currently operates:

Most of Hezbollah's 150,000 rocket and missile arsenal consists of small and medium range rockets. Mainly Katyushas: 107mm, 122mm, & Falaq-1/2, Khaibar-1, as well as Fajr-3 and Fajr-5's. Therefore Iron Dome will likely be doing most of the heavy lifting during the next conflict.

The issue is approx 4,000 rockets and missiles will be falling in Israel each day of the war (at least at the beginning until the IAF can destroy many launch sites and storage sites). Most of these rockets will fall in the range of Iron Dome.

This war will be very different to Gaza. Many towns & villages will likely remain undefended in the north as air bases and critical infrastructure in cities and other areas are given priority in defence. This means many rockets may fall in towns without interception.

In terms of Hezbollah's longer range rockets and missiles, these are mainly thousands of Zelzal-2 large-calibre artillery rockets and hundreds of Fateh-class ballistic missiles. These will need to be intercepted by David's Sling and Patriot PAC-2 GEM+

These Fateh-class ballistic missiles are the main worry. They are likely Syrian M-600 variant Fateh-110's with a CEP of 250m. They will probably be used to strike key sites such as the Haifa oil refinery and Dimona nuclear facility. These will need to be given intercept priority.

Hezbollah's PGM project aims to upgrade existing Zelzal-2 and Fateh-110's with Labeik guidance kits which increase the accuracy CEP to around 10m, close to that of a Fateh-313. These will be used to strike places such as air bases and the Kirya. Again these must be intercepted.

Next is the Scud-D threat. In the early 2010's Syria reportedly handed over a few dozen Scud-D SRBM's to Hezbollah (I am doubtful- they're easy targets & need maintenance). If this is true these are very accurate missiles that will need to be intercepted using Arrow 2 batteries.

Next is the drone and cruise missile threat. Hezbollah likely has hundreds of drones- including Ababil-T (Qasef-2k) loitering munitions and dozens of cruise missiles such as the Soumar and Quds-1 (Yemen is likely a testing ground for these Iranian systems).

Air defence systems such as Iron Dome, David's Sling and Patriot can likely intercept the incoming cruise missiles and drones but will require help from IAF fighter jets for cruise missiles and Apaches for drones. Recently a new air-air missile for this purpose was tested.

In terms of the threat to offshore energy supplies and ships- Hezbollah likely has hundreds of C-802 Noor and C-704 Nasr anti-ship cruise missiles as well as perhaps dozens of Khalij-e-Fars anti-ship ballistic missiles.

C-Dome systems will likely counter drone attacks and Barak-8 on the 3 Sa'ar-5 and 4 Sa'ar-6 class missile corvettes will likely be able to deal with anti-ship cruise missiles and anti-ship ballistic missiles.

There are multiple launchers 3-4 in a battery. Each launcher has 20 interceptors. They have around 40 launchers in total, so around 800 interceptors with thousands more in storage

I think some have the narrative that the overall success of the attack was surprising, but Hamas clearly had deeply planned and massed resources for a massive attack, where the outcome seen wasn't a reach at all.

Info cards for the ID and destruction of IDF systems were also produced, in line with the PG-7VR and EFP IEDs

Here is one that shows the best way to target an IDF Merkava Mk.4 MBT with both PG-7VR rounds and IEDs

The sheer number of vehicles used should not be discounted either, several technicals were destroyed by Israeli forces outside of Kibbutz Be'eri

One thing that should also be noted was the sheer number of TC series antitank mines found (sand-colored landmine). These were most likely carried by Hamas into Israel to impede a larger IDF response.

I would not be surprised if it were a serious concern how many were emplaced.

Additionally, as obtained by the South First Responders, a rough mission plan for the attack on Mefalsim showed the Hamas force makeup, local responder force sizes, possible response plans, and goals to capture civilians

I think deploying to Yokosuka is pretty much China's front door and you better have your shit in one sock. So the pre-deployment work ups are pretty serious. They aren't check rides.

That being said the next carrier up for deployment, especially this close to deployment, would be the logical choice to use for an emergency...but even that would take weeks to get spun up for. The GW pulling out this morning probably isn't headed to the eastern med or PG right away. They might extend Reagan and shift her over, then back fill with GW. Reagan is all spun up, she was out doing stuff a couple weeks ago.

That's a good point.

Syria, Lebanon, parts of Iraq, certainly Iran. Russia wouldn't pass up a cheap shot if they could mask attribution, so they'll help the other shitbirds if they can. China is kinda sorta in the region. I wouldn't put it past them to either covertly assist said shitbirds or at least hoover up all the intel they can.

It's not a good neighborhood, but it is familiar to us.

IDF doctrine since 1967 was designed to be able to fight a 3-front war: the south (Gaza), the West Bank, and the north (Lebanon). Having said that, I don't think they've had to put it in practice in 50 years. They should be able to handle insurgents from all 3 areas, but I suspect we'll see soon enough.

IDF believes it’s ready for Gaza ground offensive — and that it should start soon

The Israel Defense Forces believes that in order to attain the government’s stated objectives in the war against the Hamas terror group, the military must begin its ground offensive in the Gaza Strip sooner rather than later, The Times of Israel learned Monday.

Israel says its war against Hamas is aimed at destroying the Iran-backed terror group’s infrastructure and has vowed to dismantle the organization after the October 7 massacres.

Led by Hamas and carried out with other terror groups, the assault saw some 2,500 terrorists burst across the border into Israel from the Gaza Strip by land, air, and sea, killing some 1,400 people and seizing at least 222 hostages of all ages, under the cover of thousands of rockets fired at Israeli towns and cities.

The Times of Israel learned that, after 16 days of airstrikes, the IDF has told the government that it is fully prepared for a ground offensive in the Gaza Strip, and believes it can achieve the goals set out for it, even at the risk of heavy casualties to soldiers, and amid ongoing attacks by Hezbollah in the north.

But the military fears that the government may not ever give the order to begin the ground offensive, or postpone it for a lengthy period.

Should the army need to move its focus to the northern front instead of Gaza, it is confident that it could pivot within just a few days. The IDF has already heavily bolstered the Lebanon border, but most forces remain near Gaza, ahead of the expected ground offensive.

Regarding the 222 confirmed hostages held by Hamas and other terror groups in the Gaza Strip, the military has been preparing for the possibility of rescue operations amid the ground offensive, according to information seen by The Times of Israel.

CBS’s Sunday political talk show Face the Nation spent its most recent episode lashing out against Israel and rallying around the Palestinians and their beloved Hamas terrorist group who rule over them in Gaza.

From the very beginning, host Margaret Brennan and correspondent Imtiaz Tyab touted claims that Israel has been engaged in “apartheid” war crimes” against poor Gazans and the real issue at hand is “blowback” to Israel’s response to the October 7 mass slaughter of over 1,400 innocents and it all could “backfire.”

Tyab had the second of two reports from the region and cheered the “massive demonstrations in solidarity with Palestinians” “around the world,” including “over 100,000 people” “in London...demanding an end to Israel’s war in Gaza.” Naturally, he censored any mention of the anti-Semitic rhetoric from said rallies calling for further exterminations of Jews.

He fretted that “the violence” in “the Israeli-occupied West Bank...is only getting worse” and painted Israel as the sudden aggressor.

Tyab then turned to the Palestinian National Initiative’s Mustafa Barghouti, who’s already made headlines for ugly rhetoric and peddled lies defending Hamas’s terror attack, such as insisting Hamas only targeted “military installations” and the hostages were largely soldiers.
