The gun is a stock 1991 Ruger MK II with a 5.5 inch heavy taper barrel shooting nothing but the best in target ammo, bulk pack Remington Thunderbolt.  The groups were shot with two hands.

Stock .22 - Green_Canoe - Ruger MK II - .22 LR - two hand - 2.540" - 2.145" - 1.875"

My range has thick rubber mats for a backer. No way to attach a cardboard backer and have it stay up. Any other options I could use so I don’t get DQ’d?

@green_canoe

Answering a stupid question with a stupid expression isn't much help brother.

I thought the rules stated you have to use a cardboard backer to show any flyers. Without bringing power tools and hardware I don't have a way to attach a backer. Can I just use the target with no backer? Apologies up front if I missed something obvious in the rules.

It's tape!
Sorry,  I thought everyone on ARFCOM knew that meme.  My intent, as LuckyDucky says, was to recomend tape.  Specifically Duck tape.  If you keep all your shots on the 8.5x11 sheet there's no need for the backer.

Best wishes for small goups.

I printed out the targets to do this. But then did the Kill Car challenge instead.

Kill card challenge. 8:02. Almost there. :-(

Hmmm, I'll have to try this when I get home.

Off to search for the drill standards...

Bump to top.  About three weeks left.  There are 20+ participants so according to the rules there will be a prize distribution by chance.  Get invovled to get your chance at some cool prizes.

I've got two rimfire entries today. One that I am classifying as an open RF entry, the other as a stock rimfire entry. I shot both today from 25 yards in pistol pit. Both were shot using CCI Blazer ammunition (40gr LRN). Winds that were heavy at times helped make things interesting.

Range pic, of my target placement. I took the picture from the shooting point.

Open Entry

I shot my open entry with my Ruger MKII Government Target. I believe that the pistol is stock, except for the Herrett Nationals match grips that are on it. The Nationals are an adjustable anatomical grip designed for bullseye competition.

Targets with group size notations.

Targets with measuring devices.

Pistol

Stock Entry

I shot my stock entry with my Taurus 94 revolver. No known modifications, though the trigger is really nice for a Taurus.  All shots were fired single action.

Targets with group size Notations

Targets with measuring devices

Revolver

Note: I measured target 1 as 4 15/16/ 4.9375 with my square. The flexible measuring tape makes me question if 5 might not be more accurate. If you feel it appropriate, adjust my numbers when you calculate.

I suck at following rules.  I meant to go again this week with the proper targets, but life got in the way.  If B8s don’t count, I get it.  Was hoping to put in a better result but this is what I managed to record so it is what it is.

Pic from the firing line

Target one:

Measured at 6 1/4”.

Target 2:

Measured at 6 11/16”

Target 3:

Measured at 5 1/8”

I have gopro video and better pics of the measuring tape on the farthest hole if required.

The gun was a USP Expert in .45 acp

Anmo was federal syntech 220 gr

I’ll try to actually shoot some decent groups next year.

Open Centerfire? - excatm76 - STI Staccato P - 9mm - two hand - group 1 7-1/8” - group 2 11-11/16” - group 3 6-1/16”

Stock pistol, no modification. Reloads, Berry’s 147 Over Titegroup.

I screwed up and fired six each. For some reason I was sure that was the requirement. Might have done better if I fired 15 instead of 18 but I doubt it.

Open Rimfire - TGE - AR-22 cmmg homebuild - 22lr - two hand - group 1 (2.125") - group 2 (3.5") - group 3 (4.625")

I subscribed to the thread early then kinda forgot. Popped back up last week on my subscribed page and I finally got out and did it. This is a braced pistol with a 4.5" barrel + the suppressor, and I held two-handed without brace or sling touching me. After the first target I felt like a champ, then kinda fizzled - not sure why my 2nd two targets all went to the right after the first was high left . Still fun. CCI standard ammo. Verified range with laser rangefinder.

I put a few more downrange after this to see the difference with a normal hold. Using the brace I was getting around 1.5" groups. I'll work on the 9mm hopefully today or tomorrow.

Thanks to LuckyDucky for running this thing! It was fun to see everyone's targets and guns. Makes me realize how bad I am with a pistol, but I'm working on it.

I was just talking with my dad a couple days ago about how I need a threaded barrel and then I'll fire up the lathe and make a pistol suppressor, but have had too many gun purchases lately, etc etc.

And today, like magic, I get a shipping notification for a threaded G19 barrel Big thank you to @Bryan_AIM for the prize. I appreciate it and I'll get lots of good use from it.
