How much larger?

Only first hand experience around 2.75” FFARs was a check ride in an OH-58 in Mosul in ‘08. Bird came out of maintenance and needed a senior pilot to deem it FMC, but he could take up a non-pilot guy with him (maybe they didn’t want to lose two Kiowa drivers if it broke, haha) so I got to go along.

They’d brought over some old flechette rockets for squirters who survived Hellfire strikes but were still alive and had had some apparent failures. He buzzed an island in the river a few times then climbed to altitude and ripped off a couple doubles.

Coolest time I’ve ever had in an egg beater

Most common Zuni warhead has a total weight of around 45 lbs with an explosive weight of 9 lbs.
Most common 2.75" warhead has a total weight of around 9 lbs with an explosive weight of a little over 2 lbs.

There was a hi-cap 2.75" warhead (M229) that weighs 16lbs with an explosive weight of a little under 5 lbs but I'm not sure how often this version is used and I've only come across the smaller warhead.

I'll try and remember to get side by side pics when I go back to work next week.

An interesting Ukrainian T-72M1 tank was captured by the Russian forces - this one was refurbished by the Bulgarian company Apolo Engineering back in 1993 but with minimal engine hours. Bulgaria didn't announce any tank deliveries so the source is pretty mysterious.
View Quote

Some guy on reddit with a tight tin foil hat:

This is a mysterious tank. Firstly according additional images in this this twitter post, It was overhauled in Bulgaria in the early 90s. Bulgaria has said that it will not send any heavy weapons so was this tank part of secret aid, or did it come from somewhere else?

Well the company that overhauled it, Apolo Engineering is also supplying vehicles to the Iraqi military. Could this have come from a shipment of Iraqi material that was diverted to Ukraine? It would make sense for Iraqi to keep quiet about this if they wanted to keep good relations with Russia as Iraq is in the process of buying more Russian hardware including potentially an S-400 SAM system.

Looking at the tank itself, there are some more interesting features. It looks like it was setup to to be upgraded like this Polish T-72M1R with ERA over the smoke launchers, but for some reason the ERA is no-longer there. It could have been stripped off by passing troops to upgrade their own ERA protection, but there is little evidence of this happening with other old wrecks still having their ERA untouched. Another possibility is that the tank was rushed into battle without time for ERA installation, but there is little evidence of other tanks being rushed forward in this state. Finally there the possibility that the ERA was stripped by retreating troops, but it is odd that no attempt was made to sabotage any of the internals of the tank.

Finally, going full tin foil hat, this could be a re-captured Russian tank. It lacks Ukrainian camo, with only a couple of splashes of paint to show who operates it. The ID numbers on the turret have been whitewashed over which is suspicious as there would be no need for Ukraine to cover up their own markings. There is no whitewashed Z or other similar mark, but this could have been painted on the removed ERA.

But why is Russia fielding a Bulgarian modified T-72M1? Well let's go back to the Iraqi link. It has been reported that Iran is helping supply Russian forces with equipment, with some of it being sourced from Iraq. While the equipment known to have been shipped is limited, it is entirely possible that some of Iraq's new ex Bulgarian tanks could have secretly been sent over.

Overall I don't know what to think but I'm leaning towards the final option. If Russia is willing to reactivate T-62s for the separatists, then I'm sure they would be willing to explore deals that would allow them to get T-72s from the Middle East.

The crane part is battery powered.

"The ARM's power is provided by a protected and continuously monitored lithium battery pack powered by the carrier vehicle. The high capacity of the batteries provides the unique ability to use the ARM without additional power from the main engine or an auxiliary generator, thereby enabling true silent watch on silent work. In addition, use without a carrier vehicle with an external power supply, e.g. as a warehouse handling aid, is possible without further ado. This plus in flexibility is unique and an absolute gain in operations."
